THE TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING (GENERAL PERMITTED DEVELOPMENT) () ORDER 2015 (AS AMENDED)

DIRECTION MADE UNDER ARTICLE 4(1)

CONFIRMATION NOTICE

Notice is hereby given that Borough Council confirmed the above-mentioned direction on 9 October 2019, which will come into force on 1 March 2020.

The direction applies to the following locations within Luton, :

1. Land at Kingsway (including Portland Road, Laporte Way and Kingsway Industrial Estate) 2. Land to the north-west of Osborne Road 3. Land at the junction of Road and Hitchin Road 4. Premier Business Park, Dencora Way 5. Luton town centre and surrounds (including areas of Bury Park, High Town, Rothesay, New Town and Park Town) 6. Land at Percival Way and President Way (including side roads) 7. Land to the north of the junction between Wigmore Lane and Eaton Green Road

as shown edged red on the plans attached to the direction.

The direction removes the following permitted development rights:

“Development consisting of a change of use of a building and any land within its curtilage from a use falling within Class B1(a) (offices) of the Schedule to the Town and Country Planning (Use Classes) Order 1987 (as amended), to a use falling within Class C3 (dwellinghouses) of that Schedule”.

Consequently, as from 1 March 2020, a conversion from office to residential use as set out above shall not be carried out within these areas unless planning permission is granted by the Council.
