Despite the ongoing pandemic, we did it, folks! We made it to the finish line! After nearly two years of planning and preparing for this epic tale of the villain’s journey, I was devastated when news broke that the production would have to be virtual; no one knew how the future of theatre would persist. But alas, the show had to go on and these stories needed be told. Through the difficulties of filming and the regulations our live performance held, we waded through the frustrations the virus brought and kept our heads held high while doing so. So, what happens when you get a group of young creative individuals challenged with what seems like the end of times? Well, I guess you’ll just have to wait and see… This show holds a special place in my heart. I began formulating this project at the beginning of my Junior year, eager to tell the stories of those that may not have been able to themselves. We always hear of the hero’s journey–the epic tales they embark upon and the hardships they face. However, we rarely hear of the villain’s journey–the story that led them to turn to evil. Here, their stories are revealed: the circumstances that led them to malevolence, the internal struggles with their wicked ways, and their final decision to become who they are today. Because if you look closely…if you look you will see, happily ever after is not guaranteed.
