ITINERARY August 14 – St. Moritz / Bernina Express Excursion to Tirano, Italy August 7 – Depart Omaha Take the Bernina Express train (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) Today, meet us at one of our many convenient pick-up points, to Tirano and back for one of Europe’s most spectacular and where we make our way to Omaha’s Eppley Airfield and connect breathtaking train rides. Travel across lofty Bernina Pass via to our overnight flight to Zurich, Switzerland. the Swiss Poschiavo area to Tirano in the Italian Valtellina, August 8 – Arrive in Zurich, Switzerland witnessing an array of beautiful mountain streams, glaciers, and Welcome to Zurich, the largest city in Switzerland! (B, D) August 12 – Zermatt / Gornergrat Excursion An included excursion takes you to the famous Gornergrat, traveling on board Europe’s highest rack railway. The views from its summit are spectacular, especially of the Matterhorn. The rest of the day is at leisure in Zermatt, with a variety of interesting shops, cafes, bars, and picturesque streets to explore. (B) August 13 – Zermatt / Glacier Express / St. Moritz Scenic Switzerland by Train by Scenic Switzerland The train journey today aboard the spectacular Glacier Express is without a doubt one of the main highlights of the tour. Enjoy unforgettable views as you make your way through the unspoiled natural beauty of the Alps on the direct route from Zermatt to the world-famous mountain resort of St. Moritz. This picture- perfect town is more than just a holiday resort. It was also the birthplace of Alpine winter tourism and has twice hosted the Winter Olympics.
