  • Gallizien – Aktivitäten Der KEM-Südkärnten
    Gallizien – Aktivitäten der KEM-Südkärnten KLAR!-Region Südkärnten: "Grüne Schätze für heiße Plätze" In ländlichen Siedlungsgebieten wird die Verschattung von versiegelten Flächen und Gebäuden immer wichtiger. Mit dieser Klimawandel-Anpassungs-Maßnahme wird in den Gemeinden Ruden, Bad Eisenkappel-Vellach, Gobasnitz und Gallizien mit Pflanzanktionen entgegen gewirkt. Für die Volksschule Ruden musste leider das Weidentipi ohne Schüler, ohne Integration in den Unterricht fertiggestellt werden. Die Weiden und die Anleitung zum Bau, stellte die Arge Naturschutz zur Verfügung. Die KLAR!Region passt sich dem Klimawandel an und trotzt dem Coronavirus. Im Herbst wird die Schule das Tipi sicher nutzen können und in den Schulalltag einbauen. Viel Freude damit! Radwegpflege mit EU-LEADER-Förderung Mit 15. April 2020 startete das altbewährte Projekt - Radwegpflege Südkärnten wieder! Heuer erfolgt die Abwicklung mit Unterstützung der Tourismusabteilung des Landes und in Form eines EU- LEADER-Projektes, das sich über fast ganz Kärnten erstreckt. Hervorzuheben ist auch die Zusammenarbeit mit dem AMS und mit den Gemeinden St.Kanzian, Neuhaus, Bad Eisenkappel, Bleiburg, Gallizien, Sittersdorf und Eberndorf. Dieses Projekt dient auch dem Tourismus und der heimischen Bevölkerung, denn die beste Werbung ist eine hervorrangende Infrastruktur! KLAR! - Region Südkärnten "Gemeinden gemeinsam für Notfälle rüsten". Die Gemeinden Bad Eisenkappel - Vellach und die Gemeinde Gallizien sind in dieser Maßnahme Pilotgemeinden. In den beiden Gemeinden wird versucht sich bestmöglich auf Ernstfälle, Katastrophen etc. vorzubereiten. Wichtige Themen sind: der Krisenstab der Gemeinde, Alarm/Notfallplan, Risikobewertung von Gefahrenstellen. Die KLAR! Region ist hier Bindeglied zwischen Bezirksbehörde, Land und den Gemeinden unter Einbindung der Feuerwehr und den sonstigen benötigten Institutionen. In Gallizien hat dazu im Herbst eine große Übung (mit 180 Personen und 26 Fahrzeugen) stattgefunden.

    Open Linguistics 2017; 3: 145–156 Research Article Open Access Klara Bilić Meštrić*, Lucija Šimičić Language Orientations and the Sustainability of Arbanasi Language in Croatia – A Case of Linguistic Injustice1 DOI 10.1515/opli-2017-0008 Received October 22, 2016; accepted March 1, 2017 Abstract: Despite numerous positive aspects of the global development of language-as-right orientation, we argue that its application is rooted in methodological nationalism, i.e. the idea of society being equal to a nation- state (Chernilo 2006), and the monoglot ideology based on the idea of one proper version of a historically and politically privileged dialect carrying the status of a language. This dominant preconception of social phenomena thus leaves many varieties in a legislative vacuum. As a consequence, language rights, often in the form of more or less mandatory legal instruments, concern only a (politically established) few. When this institutional inadequacy is paired with the existing orders of indexicality, then these varieties face marginalisation processes that render language use even more unsustainable. To address the issue of language sustainability, we analyse the language-as-right, language-as-resource and language-as-problem orientations in Croatia on the case of the Arbanasi, a community of descendants of Catholic albanophones who settled in the periphery of Zadar in the 18th century and whose group identity is marked by significant language loss. We analyse how speakers and community members themselves perceive marginalisation processes, especially concerning linguistic (in)justice that stems from the policies that hinder sustainability of Arbanasi language use in the long run. ON BURGENLAND CROATIAN ISOGLOSSES PETER HOUTZAGERS 1. Introduction Among the Croatian dialects spoken in the Austrian province of Burgenland and the adjoining areas1 all three main dialect groups of central South Slavic2 are represented. However, the dialects have a considerable number of characteris- tics in common.3 The usual explanation for this is (1) the fact that they have been neighbours from the 16th century, when the Ot- toman invasions caused mass migrations from Croatia, Slavonia and Bos- nia; (2) the assumption that at least most of them were already neighbours before that. Ad (1) Map 14 shows the present-day and past situation in the Burgenland. The different varieties of Burgenland Croatian (henceforth “BC groups”) that are spoken nowadays and from which linguistic material is available each have their own icon. 5 1 For the sake of brevity the term “Burgenland” in this paper will include the adjoining areas inside and outside Austria where speakers of Croatian dialects can or could be found: the prov- ince of Niederösterreich, the region around Bratislava in Slovakia, a small area in the south of Moravia (Czech Republic), the Hungarian side of the Austrian-Hungarian border and an area somewhat deeper into Hungary east of Sopron and between Bratislava and Gyǡr. As can be seen from Map 1, many locations are very far from the Burgenland in the administrative sense. 2 With this term I refer to the dialect continuum formerly known as “Serbo-Croatian”.

The Yugoslav language policy advocated a polycentric model of linguistic unity that strived for equal representation of the languages of the peoples (Serbo-Croatian, Macedonian and Slovenian), ethnicities (ethnic minorities) and ethnic groups, as well as both scripts (Latin and Cyrillic). Serbo-Croatian, spoken by 73% of people in Yugoslavia, was divided into the eastern and the western variety and two standard language expressions: Bosnian and Montenegrin. One linguistic system had sociolinguistic subsystems or varieties which functioned and developed in different socio-political, historical, religious and other circumstances. With the disintegration of Yugoslavia, the aforementioned sociolinguistic subsystems became standard languages (one linguistic system brought forth four political languages). We will describe the linguistic circumstances of the newly formed countries after 1991 in Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro.
