6 carrborocitizen.com + September 2009 Carrboro Music Festival Posters, Raffle Tickets and T-shirts Festival founding member and musi- cian Janet Place has created a special design for this year’s 12th annual Car- rboro Music Festival. We have incorpo- rated it into commemorative posters and T-shirts, and both can be purchased at all three of the information tables for $10. The tables will be up and running from 1 to 6 p.m. Tickets for our annual raffle — which not only seems to have something for just about everyone but also a greater chance of winning than just about any raffle you’ll ever see — also can be purchased at those tables. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5. Winning tickets will be drawn in the week following the event and winners will be notified by phone. Foul-Weather Plan The information tables are at the fol- Ten of the 23 venues are inside, so they will continue, rain or shine. In the lowing locations: case of a possible day-long rain, the Festival Committee and the police and Town Hall Public Works will make a decision concerning the viability of the outside The Century Center venues. That decision will be made well before noon on event day. The only (Weaver Street side) real possibilities for moving an outdoor venue inside are: Weaver Street Mar- Weaver Street Market lawn ket moving into Room 2/3 in the Century Center and the Town Commons site moving into the Town Hall boardroom. Other outdoor venues will most likely be canceled.

Carrboro Music Festival carrborocitizen.com + September 2009 7 Children’s Activities The Town Commons will again feature activi- ties for kids. A 20-foot-high Scramble Slide and the 55-foot-long Cameron the Caterpillar will give youngsters plenty of exercise. The Scrap Exchange will provide materials and trained staff to supply a fun, educational, hands-on creative arts experience. Crafts booths and specialty-food vendors will be in the area around Town Hall – check them out! All of these activities are still right next to the Town Commons stage, where six wonderful bands will provide the music – so you’ll not miss a note.
