Oligoryzomys brendae is the only large-sized species of Oligoryzomys inhabiting the northwestern Argentina [303], and, probably, this species is the reservoir of hantavirus Oran according to this new taxonomic arrangement or O. chacoensis as recently described by Rivera and colleagues [188].
