Fat Tuesday Menu 2018 Drink Specials Sam’s Killer Hurricanes $7 Fat NOLA Kool-Aid Shots $3 Abita AndyGator- A creature of the swamp, is a unique, high-gravity brew made with pale malt, German lager yeast, and German Perle hops. Unlike other high-gravity brews, Andygator® is fermented to a dry finish with a slightly sweet flavor and subtle fruit aroma. Reaching an alcohol strength of 8% by volume, it Tuesday is a Helles Doppelbock. This one will kick your butt, just ask Joe Reeve. $5 Abita Turbodog A dark brown ale brewed with pale, caramel, and chocolate malts and Willamette hops. This combination gives Turbodog® its rich body and color and a sweet chocolate, toffee-like flavor. 5.6% ABV $5 Abita Mardi Gras Bock- Abita Bock is brewed with pale, pilsner and caramel malts and German Perle hops. Our bock is similar to German maibocks with its 2018 rich malt flavor and full body. A perfect choice during Carnival season in New Orleans. 6.5% ABV $5 Abita Big Easy IPA This Session IPA is brewed with lemon peels and dry hopped with Cascade, Amarillo, Centennial and Simcoe for a hoppy aroma of citrus, fruit and pine. Easy to drink and just right for long hot days, steamy nights, parades or a day on the river with friends. 4.5% ABV $5 Abita Imperial Stout Bourbon Street Stout is an Imperial Stout that is aged in small batch bourbon barrels. Our Imperial Stout is brewed with a combination of pale, caramel, chocolate and roasted malts. Oats are also added to give the beer a fuller and sweeter taste. After fermentation the beer is cold aged for 6 weeks. This is necessary for all of the flavors of the malt and hops to balance and produce a very smooth flavor. After the cold aging the beer is transferred into the bourbon barrels. It is then aged for another 8 weeks to absorb all of the flavors from the barrels. The result is a stout that brings out the roasted flavors from the malt and the warming toasted, vanilla, and bourbon flavors. 10%ABV, 22oz Bomber. $12 Horchata Turbodog Horchata Turbodog is based on one of Abita’s most popular brews, with a definite Latin twist. This robust dark ale is brewed with pale, caramel and chocolate malts, then fresh cinnamon sticks and vanilla beans are added during aging giving it a traditional horchata flavor. This gives the brew a rich body, dark color and deep flavors of chocolate, toffee, cinnamon and vanilla. 6%ABV $12 Bad Mother Shucker Oyster Stout. New this year, Deep in the oyster beds of Louisiana surfaces one Bad Mother Shucker - Abita's Oyster Stout. This big, bold oyster stout brings pale, caramel, roasted and chocolate malts to the party, balanced by crisp Willamette hops and the sweet, full flavor of oats. The magic happens near the finish, when we add fresh Louisiana oysters to infuse a sea- salty essence that really rounds things out. Pair this bad boy with a chilled dozen on the half-shell or even as a satisfying after-dinner brew. 8%ABV $5 Abita Root Beer. Abita sweetens their root beer with pure Louisiana cane sugar. The resulting taste is reminiscent of drinks made in the 1940’s and 50’s, before bottlers switched to corn sugar and fructose. Some soft drink makers add caffiene to their product, but Abita is naturally caffeine free. $4 Welcome to our Mardi Gras! We’ve spent the Special 1: Crawfish Boil. Because of the challenges the world faced in 2020, our office felt that it’s important to celebrate our differences, now more than ever. Unlike “normal” years, we knew the much-anticipated event couldn’t be held in person. So to pivot, we transformed the fair into a two-part competition. We are thankful to everyone who submitted videos for the 2021 Diversity Fair. We understand everyone has hectic schedules, and we are honored that you chose to spend your free time promoting diversity and inclusion here at UAB. First, you invited us into your homes, shared recipes (some passed down through generations, others a glimpse into how your department survives), and showed us some of the wonderful cultures you get to experience on a daily basis.
