Appalachian Dirt, the current exhibit showcased in the Marshall University Visual Arts Center, displays contemporary ceramics made by artists in our region and how they are working with different mediums. All of the ceramics in the Appalachian Dirt exhibit are from artists living in the Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia regions. Ceramist and gallery participant Noelle Horsfield said the experience was one-of-a-kind. "I have had the privilege of seeing some very high caliber ceramic exhibitions in much larger cities and Appalachian Dirt is truly one of the best," she said. "This show features work from some of the finest ceramic artists working in the field today and I feel honored to have been asked to display my work alongside these amazing artists. Having been a student at Marshall when the facilities for art were nothing like what Marshall offers today, it feels very special for me to have this work that I am incredibly pround of displayed in the Visual Arts Center." The gallery is on display until July 22. DAILY GRIND
