Gatestone Institute
GATESTONE INSTITUTE IMPACT: Gatestone has published a steady stream of content aimed at stoking fears of a Muslim takeover of Europe and America. The articles warn that increasing Muslim migration to Europe will lead to the “Islamization” of the continent. Gatestone’s pieces have been cited by far-right politicians to justify their anti- Muslim policies. • Gatestone Institute was founded in 2008 under the name “Hudson New York” by Nina Rosenwald. In 2012, the organization briefly changed its name to “Stonegate Institute.” Later that year, the organization adopted its current name. Gatestone describes itself as an “international policy council and think tank.” The former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and current national security adviser to President Donald Trump, John Bolton, served as the Institute’s chairman since 2013. • Rosenwald is the heiress to the Sears Roebuck fortune. A 2011 report by the Center for American Progress found that since 2001, Rosenwald, through her family foundation, the William Rosenwald Family Fund, donated more than $2.8 million to “organizations that fan the flames of Islamophobia.” The Center for American Progress identified the family fund as one of the the top seven funders of Islamophobia. • A September 2017 article in The Intercept by investigative journalist Lee Fang found that Gatestone published articles “focused on stoking fears about immigrants and Muslims.” In another article from 2018, Fang noted Gatestone was “infamous for its role in publishing ‘fake news’ and spreading hate about Muslims.” Fang also found that Gatestone’s anti-Muslim content had been regularly promoted by politicians, including members and affiliated online groups, of the far-right German party, Alternative for Germany (AfD). -

International FRIDAY, JUNE 20, 2014 Hillary book sales top 100,000 in first week NEW YORK: Hillary Rodham Clinton’s “Hard Choices” sold more than 100,000 copies during its opening week, its publisher told The Associated Press on Wednesday. “We’re elated,” said Simon & Schuster’s president and publisher, Jonathan Karp, who declined to offer a more specific sales figure. “This book is on a trajectory to be the best-selling nonfiction book of the year.” “Hard Choices” sold well enough to earn the covet- ed No. 1 spot on the nonfiction hardcover list of The New York Times that comes out June 29. But its debut was also far slower than that for her previous memoir, “Living History,” which sold around 600,000 copies dur- ing its first week. One likely difference: “Living History,” published in 2003, included her first extended com- ments on the affair between President Bill Clinton and White House intern Monica Lewinsky. Everyday media reports on his new decisions that have made U.S. foreign policy to deserve "unpredictability". This paper attempts to find out the fundamental causes of such changes; therefore, its main question is what is the most important variable affecting U.S recent foreign policy? To answer the question, it uses James Rosenau's theory of foreign policy and the findings of two pieces researches on Trump's personality assessment, evaluates the U.S foreign policy positions, and analyzes his interaction with foreign policy maker institutions and their internal developments. Accordingly, it hypothesizes that Trump's personality traits have made "individual variable" superior to other parameters affecting U.S foreign policy, i.e., systemic, governmental, societal, and role variables. "Authoritarian populism", "narcissism", "vengefulness", and "disagreeableness" are Trump's profound personality traits that manifest "egocentrism" hidden in his personality. These individual traits have exerted affected the weight and relations between governmental institutions of foreign policy, and institutions completely in harmony with the president's view has now been formed. -

STATEMENT OF BRIAN KAREM I write to provide you with background about myself and to tell you my side of the story regarding what happened at the Social Media Summit on July 11, 2019. I have been a political reporter for almost 40 years. I have also covered crime and wars, and I have run community newspapers. I’ve been jailed, shot at, beaten, and threatened. I am currently Playboy’s senior White House correspondent and a political analyst for CNN. I am president of the Maryland, Delaware, and District of Columbia Press Association. In 1990, I was jailed for contempt of court after refusing to disclose the name of confidential sources who helped me arrange a telephone interview with a jailed murder suspect, after which I was awarded the National Press Club’s Freedom of the Press award. I went on to work as executive editor of The Sentinel Newspapers in Maryland and as producer and television correspondent for America’s Most Wanted. I have also authored seven books. I have covered six White Houses. While I have held my current hard pass since last year, in the past I also held hard passes. My experience in the White House is important because I can tell you, point blank, that the behavior of the press corps today is tame by comparison. The first time I walked into the White House I was 25. It was 1986 and Ronald Reagan was president. The first person I met was Helen Thomas, who covered the White House under ten Presidents, and who, as it turns out, knew my great grandfather from Lebanon. -

The big lie bit the liar Michael Costello/Lewiston Tribune If you like your health care plan, you can keep it. Period. If by "period" you mean, "if it hasn't changed since the law passed." This is the time of year when this column dedicates space to reminding readers of the silliest, most ignorant and dishonest utterances of the self-anointed glitterati, illuminati and cognoscenti who lecture us, rule us and tell us what we're supposed to know, what we're supposed to believe and how we're expected to live. And this crowd has had an exceptionally bad year. And I'm not even counting the backlash against the Gaystapo who have tried to destroy Phil Robertson of the "Duck Dynasty" television show. In a one week period this fall, the New York Times, The Washington Post and Politico magazine all arrived at the identical conclusion that Obamacare's design was never intended to improve the delivery of health care, as its proponents claimed. What they all discovered was that, after millions of Americans had their insurance policies cancelled and millions more had seen their premiums soar, Obamacare was actually just another Democrat wealth redistribution scheme. They've had five years to figure this out. But they were all so devoted to promoting the man whom Barbara Walters declared "Messiah," that they averted their eyes from the obvious. Rather than report, they competed with each other for the honor of bearing his sedan chair on their shoulders. Those who dared to be correct from the beginning were denounced by the same geniuses who now claim to have uncovered the Obamacare fraud. -
