36Acorn Directory of Services Neath Port Talbot.Pdf
FOREWORD Acorn was set up by a group of volunteers in August 2011 to promote positive mental health and improve the emotional health and wellbeing of individuals experiencing mental health issues in Neath Port Talbot. This directory has been produced because members of Acorn identified the need for information about services and support organisations to be easily available and in one place. It is estimated that one in four people will experience mental ill health at some point in their lifetime, so mental illness will, at one time or another impact on many of our lives, either directly or through family, friends or colleagues. It is important to be able to find the right help, support and guidance easily so we hope this directory will help to achieve this. We have tried to focus on local services, but where these don’t exist we have put together a section on national organisations, websites and help lines. If you would like to comment on the directory or contact members of Acorn please email: [email protected]. For further information, please contact Emma Jones on 01639 631 246. Ffilm Ddogfen Anorac
Ffilm ddogfen Anorac: Hanner canrif o chwyldro roc, pop a cherddoriaeth Gymraeg / Documentary film Anorac: 50 years of rock, pop and the Welsh music revolution Wedi’i gyhoeddi ar Tuesday, March 26, 2019 — Yn Anffurfiol/Miwsig “Yn y flwyddyn rhyddhaodd y Beatles Sgt. Pepper, dyna’r flwyddyn gwelwyd y grŵp roc cyntaf yn y Gymraeg.” “The year in which the Beatles released Sgt Pepper, was the same year we saw the first ever Welsh rock band.” Roedd hi’n 1967, a gyda cherddoriaeth roc yn ffynnu dros y ffin yn Lloegr a ledled y byd, roedd newid ar droed yma yng Nghymru. Daeth y band roc, Y Blew, ar y sin fel chwyldro, gan weddnewid tirwedd gerddorol Cymru fel y grŵp cyntaf oedd yn canu cerddoriaeth roc yn y Gymraeg. Denodd y band sylw cenedlaethol, gan ddechrau’r chwyldro sydd hyd heddiw yn cael ei alw yn y Sin Roc Gymraeg. A ninnau nawr yn 2019, dros 50 mlynedd yn ddiweddarach, mae’r sin yn byrlymu o’n cwmpas o hyd. Yn sin amrywiol, cyffrous, mae hi’n draddodiad sy’n mynnu sylw arbennig un o enwau cerddorol amlycaf Cymru, Prydain a thu hwnt. Yn Gymro o Gaerdydd, yn gyflwynydd, DJ a cherddor, Huw Stephens aeth ar bererindod gerddorol o Gymru i nodi hanner can mlynedd ers i glustiau’r byd glywed cerddoriaeth roc Gymraeg am y tro cyntaf. Cynhyrchiad ei bererindod ydi Anorac, ffilm sy’n peintio darlun o sin cerddorol Gymraeg ddoe a heddiw Cymru. Gyda’r ffilm, sydd wedi ei chynhyrchu gan Boom Cymru, eisoes wedi ei darlledu mewn sinemâu ledled Cymru, bydd cyfle i wylwyr S4C brofi’r gampwaith gyda darllediad arbennig o Anorac ar y sianel nos Iau, 4 Ebrill am 9.30. -

Huw Stephens: 'There are no limits to where Welsh language music can go' | Music | The Guardian 11/11/18, 148 PM Huw Stephens: 'There are no limits to where Welsh language music can go' The broadcaster’s new documentary surveys the last 50 years of Welsh language music and highlights its bright future Ammar Kalia Last modified on Wed 7 Nov 2018 09.41 EST Huw Stephens, with his anorak, in the Welsh countryside. Photograph: courtesy Huw Stephens The Welsh language is beautiful, alive and spoken. It may not be used by everyone, but there are well over 500,000 people who speak it in Wales. Our music, meanwhile, is an important way to remind people around the world that it exists. I decided to make a road-trip around Wales to document this scene. Three years ago, director Gruff Davies and I set out, with no funding, to take a https://www.theguardian.com/music/2018/nov/07/huw-stephens-there-are-no-limits-to-where-welsh-language-music-can-go Page 1 of 6 Huw Stephens: 'There are no limits to where Welsh language music can go' | Music | The Guardian 11/11/18, 148 PM snapshot of musicians on Wales’s artistic fringes. Our documentary, Anorac, is a celebration of the language and of the work people have done to maintain its relevance. You have lifers, like John Peel favourites Meic Stevens and Datblygu, who have only ever sung in Welsh. Anorac is a testament to the fact that they’re still here, and a tribute to the people making music now, such as Gwenno and the Bajan-Welsh singer Kizzy Crawford. -
