ISF FAMILY REUNITED: GENERAL ASSEMBLY TAKES PLACE IN BELGRADE, SERBIA

ISF members gathered in Belgrade March, 3rd for an annual General Assembly (GA), the highest governing body of the ISF. Serbian School Federation (SSSF) hosted the event alongside the celebration of its 50-year anniversary. Ahead of the event, Continental meetings and Executive Committee meetings took place. ISF President Laurent Petrynka addressed GA with a report of 2019 activities and his vision for organization’s future. EUROPEAN SCHOOL SPORT FEDERATION FOUNDED IN BELGRADE

March, 2 2020 in Belgrade, Serbia a founding General Assembly of the European School Sport Federation was held. Representatives from 23 European countries (Austria, Armenia, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Great Britain, Greece, France, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Portugal, Republic of Srpska, Romania, Russian Federation, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine) gathered in Belgrade on Founding General Assembly of the European School Sport Federation.

MEET THE NEW AFRICA’S PRESIDENT: MAMADOU SOULEYMAN KONE

On March, 2nd Africa's Continental meeting members chose Cote d'Ivoire's Mamadou Souleymane Kone as its next ISF Africa Continental President following the election of the former President Morocco's Youssef Belqasmi as ISF Vice President.

He commented, “I feel very proud and confident about my new position of Africa’s Continental President. There is huge work to do to implement ISF vision. I feel enthusiasm of others, therefore, I believe I can succeed to implement ISF vision in the region. To this end, we need to exchange our experience, choose the best practices and promote continental events.”

Mamadou Souleyman Kone has 38 years of experience in sport. He is a Physical Education teacher back in his home country specializing in volleyball training. He is also School and University Sport Head Manager in the regional administration. He joined ISF family in 2014, becoming a member of ISF Executive Committee in 2018.

ISF SIGNS MOU WITH UNITED WORLD

ISF President Laurent Petrynka met with (UWW) President Nenad Lalovic in UWW Headquarters in , March, 9. Following the meeting, the two officials signed a memorandum of understanding on future cooperation between the two organizations.

ISF President Laurent Petrynka said,

"Partnership of ISF with UWW is very important. First of all, the sport of wrestling is already very present in Physical Education program and school sport. We will continue to develop wrestling in our events. Secondly, our cooperation with UWW is strengthening our effort to connect Olympic movement to schools."

ISF HOLDS MEETING WITH FIBA IN LAUSANNE

March, 11 ISF President Laurent Petrynka and Secretary General/CEO Hrvoje Custonja met FIBA President Hamane Niang in Lausanne, Switzerland. FIBA was also represented by Secretary General Andreas Zagklis and NFs and Sport Director Zoran Radovic. The leaders of two organizations discussed development of basketball 3X3 in ISF program, promoting this event at schools internationally. They also agreed to cooperate on gender equality topics. In addition, technical support and sharing FIBA's expertise for ISF events were discussed.

ISF President Laurent Petrynka commented, "Basketball has always been one of key on ISF programs, especially an attractive format of 3X3. We appreciate support of FIBA's expertise that is invaluable for developing basketball both at ISF event programs and at schools all over the world. ISF and FIBA have a common vision of basketball as a tool to promote inclusivity and empower the youth."

ISF SPORT MEETING

ISF Sport meeting focuses on WSCs and Gymnasiade in China February,

7 -8 February ISF Technical Commission Presidents and Technical Coordinators gathered at the ISF headquarters in Brussels, Belgium, to discuss ISF sport policy, its development, and future agenda. This is the first time that ISF has appointed such a big number of sports experts. It reflects the expansion of the ISF sports programme, and more importantly, the growth of the ISF membership; 123 members/countries. The 29 ISF Technical Commission Presidents and Technical Coordinators are representing 25 different countries from 4 continents.
