  • The Ex - Giancarlo Fisichella, Alex Wurz 2000 Benetton B200 Formula 1 Chassis Number: B200-06
The Ex - Giancarlo Fisichella, Alex Wurz 2000 Benetton B200 Formula 1 Chassis Number: B200-06 • The last of six B200 chassis built by Benetton for the 2000 Formula 1 season, and the only example of a B200 in running condition, with very few remaining. • The B200 was heralded as a change in philosophy by Engineering Director Pat Symonds, with huge weight savings over the B199, improved chassis stiffness and much increased aerodynamic stability. The model went on to take three podiums with Fisichella through the 2000 season, with Benetton claiming 4th in the Constructors’ World Championship. • B200-06 was raced by Giancarlo Fisichella on his way to finishing 6th in the Drivers’ World Championship, and was also a spare car for both Fisichella and Wurz. • Likely to have been one of the test cars for 2000 and pre-season 2001, during which time Fernando Alonso, Jenson Button, Mark Webber, Oliver Gavin, Giorgio Pantano and Hidetoshi Matsusada all drove for Benetton. • To be sold with shakedown miles only following the rebuild to running condition by Mansell Motorsport, and fitted with a 750 bhp Judd V10 engine with a forecast inter-service life of 3000km. • As the interest in late era Formula 1 cars continues to gather pace, the B200 is a superb ticket to exhilaration with eligibility for the BOSS GP series, Master Historic Racing demonstrations and of course private track use. The Benetton name has long been associated with Formula 1, with the Italian fashion house joining the fray in 1983. Having initially sampled the arena by sponsoring Tyrrell and Alfa Romeo, Benetton looked to increase its involvement in the sport during 1985.

FEDERATION INTERNATIONALE DE L'AUTOMOBILE Press Information 2016 Japanese Grand Prix Friday Press Conference Transcript 07.10.2016 TEAM REPRESENTATIVES – Ayao KOMATSU (Haas), Bob BELL (Renault), Luigi FRABONI (Ferrari), Paddy LOWE (Mercedes), Yusuke HASEGAWA (Honda), Pat SYMONDS (Williams) PRESS CONFERENCE Bob, let’s start with you: How have you been getting on rebuilding the staff at Enstone, where do you still lack and what will the effect of all this be on the 2017 car? Bob BELL: Well, I’m only a small piece of the team that is doing the rebuilding, as you call it, but it’s certainly a big challenger. I don’t think perhaps from the outside people realise how run down the Enstone squad had become in the last couple of years, so there’s a lot to do. As well as the process of rebuilding the team of course we had to build a car for this year and start work on an even better one for next year, which wouldn’t be terribly hard. It’s been a challenge, it continues to be so, but there’s a very strong spirit in Enstone as anybody who knows the place will testify to and we’re certainly up to the challenge. The updates in Malaysia made the car a lot better, with Kevin 14th on the grid and Jolyon taking his first championship point, yet some are saying that Renault has not really been making progress this year. What’s happening from your perspective and what’s the short- term plan if you like, between here and Abu Dhabi, based on what you’ve learned in the past week or two? BB: I think it’s probably fair to say that in the last few races our progress forward other than what the Viry guys have been able to do with the power unit, on the chassis side it’s been less to do with new bits and more to do with understanding how to get more out of what we’ve already got and we’ll continue that process until the end of the season.

Episode 44 – Sidepoddie Awards [Intro: Rich Reich, Keeping Up With the Race] Chris: Welcome to Sidepodcast, this is Episode 44 – Sidepoddie Awards. Hello everyone, welcome to the last show for 2007. Me: Ah, does that mean we’re taking a break? Chris: Um, no, not really. We did have a season review show planned but that’s going to merge with some shows early in January. And, we were going to do a news show this week, but quite frankly, I can’t face having to say anything else about McLaren. Me: And I don’t blame you, but there’s plenty to talk about on that subject, but, next year. Chris: Technically you do get a couple of weeks off, what with it being Christmas and all, but it’s not really a winter break. We’re gonna be sitting back, taking stock of what we’ve accomplished this year and what we intend to do next year. We’ll still be blogging and all that stuff. Me: That doesn’t sound much like a holiday, and that sounds very uh, overblown, and over the top. Have you been reading some Hollywood scripts recently? Chris: Really, all we’re gonna do is let the weekly audio show show take a break while we fix all the things that we’ve been saying we’ll do all year and never getting round to. Me: Why didn’t you just say so in the first place? Chris: Anyway, it’s time to get on with the show. Me: Ooh, shall I crack open the Red Bull for one last time? Chris: Please do, yes.
