NEW YORK, N.Y. – June 7, 2011 – MSG Networks, in partnership with The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA), will present live coverage of the Belmont Draw at 11:00 a.m. tomorrow on MSG Network. On Thursday at 6:30 p.m., MSG Plus will showcase the “Belmont Stakes Preview Show.” In addition to televising special Belmont coverage this week, MSG Plus currently telecasts “Belmont Park in 30” or “Thoroughbred Weekly” every weekday morning at 9:30 a.m.
The Belmont Draw will be hosted by horse racing analyst Jason Blewitt. The 30-minute show will include live coverage of the Belmont Stakes draw for post positions for Saturday's running, a preview of the race and interviews with key trainers and jockeys.
The “Belmont Stakes Preview Show” will be hosted by Blewitt and Andy Serling, with guest analysts Richard Migliore, Maggie Wolfendale and Eric Donovan. During the 30- minute program, the racing experts will provide full analysis of the Belmont Stakes, as well as features about the race's leading contenders and historical coverage of the race.
This Saturday, June 11, Belmont Park will host the 143rd running of the Belmont Stakes. The 1.5-mile race is the longest and final leg of thoroughbred racing’s Triple Crown for three-year-olds. This year’s pool of talent features a showdown between Preakness Stakes winner Shackleford and Kentucky Derby winner Animal Kingdom, who looks to become the first horse since Thunder Gulch in 1995 to win both the Derby and the Preakness.
