Tu čast i priliku želimo iskoristiti ukazujući na neke domete i iskorake ove visokoškolske i znanstvene ustanove, na retrospektivu njenog historijskog hoda u ovom kratkom intervalu između dva izdanja Zbornika radova i izrastanja u respektabilnu islamsku obrazovno-odgojnu ustanovu koja pokreće i master studij drugog ciklusa. 1. IPF je vrlo ozbiljna i ugledna institucija koja je u nepunoj godini dana održala dvije promocije diplomanata (04.04.2009. – 77 diplomanata i 03.02.2010. - 48 diplomanata) i odgojila 125 novih nastavnika i profesora islamske vjeronauke kao neprocjenjivo bogatstvo, resurs islamske i društvene zajednice koji se ne može sada dovoljno vrednovati, a koji će, ako Bog da utkati sebe u tkivo i kičmu islamske zajednice a na korist bosansko-bošnjačkog društva i čitave društvene zajednice. 2. Kao intelektualna kičma IZ-e i Bošnjaka na ovim prostorima IPF je praktično historijski kontinuitet naših islamskih obrazovnih institucija koje su u BiH veoma stare ili čak, najstarije na Balkanu po svom osnutku i postojanju (kao što je Sarajevska GHB medresa sa preko 470 jubileja i godina rada i postojanja) a savremene po svom planu i programu i usklađene sa vremenom i prostorom u kojem djeluju kao što proklamira vasijjet nekih naših vakifa i vakufnama. 3. U svjetlu ovih činjenica naglašavamo da IPF obrazuje nastavni kadar za predmet islamska vjeronauka koji donosi višestruku korist u preveniranju društvenih bolesti koje pogađaju maloljetničku populaciju u vidu raznoraznih delikvencija, ovisnosti i sl., i posebno, dakle, pored duhovne-eshatološke donosi i praktičnu socijalnu korist za čitavo društvo. Zbog toga vjeronauka nema alternativu. 7 4. U procesu reforme visokog školstva na Unsko-sanskom kantonu i registracije integrisanog Univerziteta IPF je igrao kohezionu, konstruktivnu ulogu, stabilizirajući faktor u svakom pogledu što je potvrdio i rektor Univerziteta prilikom svog obraćanja na zadnjoj promociji diplomanata. 5. Gledajući opet, na materijalne mogućnosti IPF je na neki način gotovo u povlaštenom položaju u odnosu na druge članice Bihaćkog univerziteta po pitanju prostora koji je gotovo ključni faktor za održavanje i izvođenje nastavnog procesa jer je kvalitetno i u potpunosti praktično rješen u vidu velelepne i funkcionalne zgrade izgrađene na atraktivnom mjestu u gradu na Uni. Posebno je značajno da postoji i internat sa kuhinjom tako da su osigurane dvije najznačajnije materijalne komponente i preddispozicije za normalan i uspješan rad studenata. Ostalo je na njima... 6. Ono što posebno želimo obznaniti a što se tiče master studija osnovnog odsjeka islamska vjeronauka, ako dragi Allah dadne, mi počinjemo sa predavanjima početkom aprila 2010. godine. Imamo, hvala dragom Bogu, dovoljan broj kandidata u našim dosadašnjim diplomantima i imamima koji su do sada završili prvi ciklus studija na našoj instituciji. To je samo prirodni slijed reforme školstva i bolonjskog procesa koji je naša zemlja odabrala kao obrazovni model potpisujući bolonjsku i druge deklaracije i ugrađujući to u zakonsku regulativu. Kad sumiramo naše rezultate i iskorake onda se nikako ne možemo dovoljno nazahvaljivati, prvo Dragom Bogu, a onda kantonalnoj i gradskoj upravi u vrijeme našeg otpočinjanja sa radom, a potom, posebno našoj braći iz hiljadama kilometara udaljene Saudije koja je kao najveći donatar BiH (Visoki saudijski komitet za pomoć Bosni i Hercegovini) u potpunosti izfinansirala projekat gradnje zgrade fakulteta, doma i džamije, trenutno jedne od najljepših zgrada u gradu na Uni predajući nam je na korištenje kompletno završenu bez ikakvih uvjeta. Jedini uvjet koji su nam uopće tražili bio je samo da im obezbjedimo zemljište na kojem će je sagraditi. Plemenitost ovog čina i ove donacije najbolje ćemo razumjeti u svjetlu činjenice da nam ,,braća stranci“ naprave zgradu vrijednu nekoliko miliona eura a da nam danas aktualna gradska vlast, dakle 8 „naša gradska braća i gradski oci“ pokušavaju poništiti rješenje o dodjeli zemljišta s pravom korištenja i vlasništva, urbanističko rješenje i građevinsku dozvolu za građenje dobivenu od prije 11 g. i javno prijete sa mogućnošću rušenja zbog toga što nam je zemljište tada dodjeljeno od istog tog organa Općine kako bi se ta velika donacija mogla ikako implementirati i kako bi se mogao smjestiti IPF u čijoj zgradi su danas i Biotehnički, dio Pedagoškog, pa i povremeno predavanja Ekonomskog fakulteta. Stranci nam pomognu, iako su hiljadama kilometara daleko od nas, a aktualna gradska uprava nam prijeti bagerima. Zar nije bilo preče da nam gradska uprava sa načelnikom na čelu izađe u susret i prije nego neko ko je hiljadama kilometara daleko od nas? Zar sami sebi kao društvo ne želimo i ne trebamo pomoći, ili su oni koji su napravili ovu zgradu trebali ponijeti sa sobom i komad zemljišta i7z svoje zemlje, da bi nam i to poklonili ili ispada da mi i naši studenti, dakle IPF, a onda i naš Biotehnički fakultet, naš Pedagoški fakultet, naš Ekonomski fakultet, svi mi zajedno, nismo dio ovog društva?! Ili je društvo samo aktualni načelnik i njegova administracija?! Kakva se poruka odašilje onima koji nam žele pomoći ili, svejedno, onima koji uopće žele investirati kod nas u našem gradu ako se u javnosti plasira informacija o rušenju džamije i ovakve jedne vrijedne zgrade?! Koji će ludi investitor, posebno sa istoka, ali i sa zapada, doći investirati u jedan grad ako izabrani načelnik prijeti bagerom ovakvoj jednoj zgradi kao što je zgrada IPF koja je imala sve moguće potrebne dozvole od organa iste te Općine: 1. urbanističku saglasnost za izgradnju dodjeljeno rješenjem: 3/36/-364-185 2. dodjelu zemljišta IPA,/IPF, sa pravom raspolaganja i vlasništva, rješenje: 3/36-361-231/97 od: 20/05/1999.g. 3. i građevinsku dozvolu, rješenje: 3/36-361-231/97 od: 20/05/1999. g. Napominjemo da su sva ova rješenja i dozvole koje posjeduje IPA/IPF dobivene, ne na pijaci, nego u tadašnjoj zakonskoj proceduri od nadležnih službi iste te općine, dakle, Službe prostornog uređenja, 9 katastra i imovinsko-pravnih poslova, općine Bihać. U samom početku implementacije ove velike donacije, Vlada Kantona je obećala rješiti komunalije zgrade što je premijer Kantona početkom 2008. rebalansom i uradio sa novih 250 000 KM pa je uplaćeno svega oko 360 000 KM. Nakon toga je izdana nova urbanistička saglasnost 20.04.2009. s potpisom aktualnog načelnika, koji nam, onda na koncu potpisuje i novo rješenje, od: 29. 10. 2009. kojim se pokušavaju pobiti sve pravne posljedice nastale rješenjima i dozvolama od prije 11 godina što je pravni nonsens. Mi smo jako osjetljivi i na sami pomen termina rušenje (džamije, zgrade IPF) jer nas odmah asocira na proteklu agresiju i učinjeni urbicid, podsjeti na četništvo, na period od 1992-1995. kada je porušeno više od hiljadu džamija i mesdžida. Je li se neko želi poistovjetiti, u ovom periodu mira, sa tim rušiteljima, onda neka ponese i odgovornost za to? Ako su vjernici koji dolaze u džamiju munafici i licemjeri, onda im se džamije mogu napadati i mogu biti porušene bez ikakvih problema. Isto tako ako našoj djeci ne treba Univerzitet, ako nam svima kao društvu ne treba ovakva jedna zgrada onda smo mi prvi koji uzimamo pijuk i rušimo. Iman svih nas je na ispitu. Ali ako su oni koji posjećuju ovu džamiju, doista vjernici iz ubjeđenja, onda će svako u svom domenu štititi ovaj vjerski hram, štiti svetost džamije i institucije koja nosi prefiks ,,islamski“. I ako je ovaj drugi hram, obrazovni hram u vidu IPF potreban nama, našoj djeci i društvu uopće, onda mi svakako nismo ni imali dilemu da niko nema ni zakonsko a pogotovo moralno pravo da govori o rušenju ovako vrijednih objekata čak da su nikli bez ikakvih dozvola a kamoli sa svim ovim rješenjima i dozvolama koje imamo. Rukavica je bačena, rubikon je pređen, a mi smo svjedoci ovog vremena. Ono će biti za nas ili protiv nas. Pošto je u ranijim uvodima prva dva Zbornika već pisano o odnosu islama prema nauci i znanju a time posredno i prema našem odgojno obrazovnom hramu IPF i njegovoj zgradi, ovaj put bih samo 10 podsjetio sve one u čijim srcima iskri iman na neizmjerne vrijednosti gradnje džamije koje Allahov Poslanik, s.a.v.s., spominje u svojim hadisima kao stimulans za pomagače i graditelje džamija.

Bosch Vilá, mi maestro Se ha dicho, con meridiana evidencia, que el siglo VII/XIII para la España musulmana es el siglo que revela con mayor claridad su de bilidad política y social; un siglo, pues, en franca y precipitada agonía. Y así es, ciertamente. Sin embargo, eso no es todo, ni es, tampoco, sufi ciente, para caracterizar a uno de los siglos más complejos y oscuros de toda la Historia de al-Andalus. Un examen más profundo sobre este pe ríodo habrá de revelar otras muchas y más precisas características, tan desconcertantes como admirables a los ojos de la moderna investigación. La historia de al-Andalus en el siglo XIII, en especial, el segundo tercio, es una historia de profundos cambios e importantes transfor maciones políticas y sociales. Es, no sólo una historia de protagonismos, al zamientos y sublevaciones, sino también la historia de un siglo que ofrece un aspecto histórico-cultural muy particular, por los acontecimientos que en él se desarrollaron y por el elevado número de personajes que flore cieron, literatos y hombres de ciencia en su mayoría y primeras figu ras en el amplio y complejo escenario del siglo XIII. N.B.     The Jihād of the Caliphs and the First Battles of Islam: Memory, Legitimization and Holy War, from Cordoba to Tinmal JAVIER ALBARRÁN Universidad Autónoma de Madrid1 ([email protected]) Abstract This paper analyzes how the memorialization and commemoration of early conflicts in Islamic history influenced the performance and legitimization of jihād, especially on the part of caliphs who ruled in the Islamic West. Jihād is defined here as an ideology, a discursive tool that appealed to accepted and shared sacred elements; created a framework for the justification of specific actions on the part of the caliphs; and generated new authority. The paper also discusses the importance of the maghāzī and futūḥ, as well as its later impact, reception, reinvention, and re-contextualization. The focus of this study, however, is the key role that military expeditions during the founding period of Islam played in the conceptualization of jihād, which turned primitive episodes of war into legitimizing elements by utilizing the image of ideal behavior enjoyed by Muḥammad and the rāshidūn within the Umma. This study considers the Cordoban Umayyad caliphate and the Almohad movement, two periods during which al-Andalus was ruled directly by a caliph. By considering both chronological and geographical contexts, the paper analyzes the commemoration of the first battles of Islam, wherein both caliphates in the Islamic West presented themselves as a renewal of the early “golden age” of Islam. Introduction In the five decades since Philippe Ariès suggested that perhaps “there was no place for childhood in the medieval world”,1 the study of medieval European children and childhoods has gained significant momentum and importance. Work by the likes of Barbara Hanawalt, Shulamith Shahar, Pierre Riché, Danièle Alexandre-Bidon, Nicholas Orme, Albrecht Classen, and many others, has comprehensively challenged Ariès’ argument that childhood was not viewed, in the medieval world, as a distinct stage of life.2 Drawing on a wide range of evidence, from school books and coroners’ inquests to art and toys, these scholars have broadened and deepened our understanding of how children were conceptualised and treated, both within and outside the family, and even brought to life the worlds of children themselves. Research has also been carried out on medieval childhoods in the worlds beyond Europe, geographically and culturally,3 but with the exception of the pioneering work of Avner Gilʿadi, medieval Islamic children and childhoods have gone largely unexamined.

    BETWEEN ACCULTURATION AND CONVERSION IN ISLAMIC SPAIN THE CASE OF THE BANŪ ḤASDAY* SARAH STROUMSA THE HEBREW UNIVERSITY OF JERUSALEM Abstract The High Middle Ages in Islamic Spain (al-Andalus) is often described as a golden age in which Jews, Christians and Muslims lived in harmony. The attested dynamics of conversions to Islam disturb this idyllic, static picture, revealing the religious and social pressures exerted on the religious minorities. The different reactions of the Jewish and Christian communities of al-Andalus to these pressures allow us to refine our understanding of conversion in the Medieval Islamic world. A close examination of the Jewish family of Banū Ḥasday shows more nuances and ambivalence than ‘conversion’ normally suggests.
