ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1985

A'18 MOUNTAIN ROAD (RAMSEY, , , , BRADDAN AND ) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) (NO 2) ORDER 201.0

Coming into Operation:1-7 August 2010

The Department of Infrastructure makes this Order under section 3 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1985'.

1 Title This Order is the 418 Mountain Road (Ramsey, Maughold, Lezayre, Lonan, Braddan and Onchan) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) (No 2) Order 2010.

2 Commencement This Order comes into operation at 9.15am on17 August 201,0.

3 Temporary closure of road to through traffic No person must except upon the direction or with the permission of a police constable in uniform cause or permit any vehicle to proceed on that section of the 418 Mountain Road, in Ramsey, Maughold,Lezayre, Lonan, Braddan and Onchan, between the Ramsey Hairpin and the Creg-ny-Baa.

4 Exemptions Article 3 does not apply to a vehicle requiring access to premises or land adjacent to the road specified in article 3 or to-

(u) a vehicle engaged in any of the following operations-

(Ð works in land or premises adjacent to the road specified in article 3; (ii) works in the road specified in article 3 authorised by statutory provisions; or

' rg1s c.zo Price:50p Price Code:A (iii) in the service of a local authority or the Department of Infrastructure in pursuance of any statutory functions in the road or in adjacent land or premises if it cannot conveniently be used for such purposes on any other road;

(b) a vehicle being used in the course of duty for the police, fire brigade, ambulance or coastguard service;

(c) a vehicle for which the driver holds a permit issued by the Department of Infrastructure for its use in the road, at a time or for a purpose specified in the permit; or

(d) such vehicular traffic as may be authorised by the Departrnent of Infrastructure.

5 Duration This Order is in force on 17 August 2010 from 9.15am until 4.00pm or until the Manx Grand Prix preparation work is completed, whichever is the earlier. MADE /2n rù9 2o /o

EXPLANATORY NOTE (This note is not a part of the Order)

The effect of this Order is to prohibit through vehicular traffic from proceeding on that section of the 418 Mountain Road, in Ramsey, Maughold, Lezayre, Lonan, Braddan and Onchan, between the Ramsey Hairpin and the Creg-ny-Baa, whilst Manx Grand Prix preparation work takes place.

Access to properties will be maintained.

An alternative route will be via the A2Laxey Coast Road.
