Some of the less expensive brands you might save some money but you will find they do not have enough real pigment in them to make great paintings. I learned this when I first started painting.)

Make sure you use a professional grade Acrylic paint – Brands like Golden, Utrecht Acrylics, Liquitex
Note: There is a huge difference in quality if you by inexpensive student grade paints you will not be able to make great paintings because of the lack of pigments in the paints. I find Golden to be the most trustworthy and then Utrecht’s.
Brushes: I use Flats – Utrecht mixed synthetic #14, Princeton Summit 600F Flat #6 Princeton “Stroke” ½” Michael’s has good inexpensive synthetic brushes in their brush department as well. Feel free to use whatever you are comfortable with.
