XX) SUMMARY ADDENDA AND CORRIGENDA TO GEOMETRIDAE OF SOUTHERN ITALY (Contributions to knowledge of the Lepidoptera in Southern Italy. XX) Collection data on Geometridae of southern Italy are reported. The most interesting ones regard two species newly recorded for the continental Italy: Hemistola siciliana Prout, 1935 and Idaea rainerii Hausmann, 1994; one species newly recorded for central and southern Italy: Eupithecia ochridata Pinker, 1968; eight species newly recorded for southern Italy: Pachycnemia tibiaria (Rambur, 1829), Idaea laevigata (Scopoli, 1763), Eupithecia cuculliaria (Rebel, 1901), Eupithecia laquaearia Herrich-Schäffer, 1848, Eupithecia absinthiata (Clerck, 1759), Eupithecia subumbrata (Denis & Schiffermüller, 1775), Eupithecia pusillata (Denis & Schiffermüller, 1775) and Eupithecia scopariata (Rambur, 1833). Moreover, the Authors have been made some corrections and modifications, also from a nomenclatural point of view, of the monography on the Geometridae collected in Southern Italy (Parenzan, 1994). Key words: Lepidoptera Geometridae, faunistic reports, Southern Italy.

  • Schen Insel Pantelleria (Lepidoptera, Geometridae) Von H Einz F Ischer Eingegangen Am 23.11.2009
Summary: In October 2007 and in May 2008 the author practised field-studies on the Sicilian island of Pantelleria. Thus, some new records of geometridae partly belonging to isolated populations in the area of Montagna Grande can be presented. After morphological examination of the genitalia, Se lidosema erebaria (Oberthür , 1883) comb. nov. can be proved true belonging to the genus Selidosema Hübner , [1823] 1816 and recorded as new for Europe. After examination of syntypes Euphitecia rusi cadaria D ietze, 1910 syn. nov., described from Tunisia, is downgraded in synonymy with Eupithecia scopariata (Rambur , 1833).

Volume 23 RARE FOR LITHUANIAN FAUNA LEPIDOPTERA SPECIES RECORDED IN 2010 TOMAS ŪSAITIS Lithuanian Entomological Society, Akademijos 2, LT-08412 Vilnius, Lithuania. E-mail: [email protected] Introduction Lepidoptera is one of the best studied insect orders in Lithuania. Still, every year new important data on fauna and distribution of Lepidoptera in our country is added. The article presents new data on rare species of moths and butterflies registered in central and south-eastern Lithuania in 2010. Material and Methods The material was collected in Kaunas, Šal čininkai, Šven čionys, Var ėna and Vilnius administrative districts during April-September, 2010. Standard entomological techniques (netting and light trapping) were used. The material was identified using various identification keys (Hausmann, 2004; Ivinskis & Augustauskas, 2004; Kazlauskas, 1984; 2008; Mironov, 2003; Nowacki, 1998). For identification of difficult species genitalia preparations were made. Taxonomy is given according to the Fauna Europaea database (Karsholt & Nieukerken, 2011). Information on the locality, finding date and the number of the recorded specimens is provided for every species. The collected material is preserved in the personal collection of the author. Peter Huemer & Paul D. N. Hebert DNA Barcode Bibliothek der Schmetterlinge Südtirols und Tirols (Italien, Österreich) – Impetus für integrative Artdifferenzierung im 21. Jahrhundert Abstract DNA barcode library for Lepidoptera from South Tyrol and Tyrol (Italy, Austria) – Impetus for integrative species discrimination in the 21st Century The present study presents a DNA barcode library for 2565 Lepidoptera species (70 families) from an alpine transect covering the provinces of South Tyrol (Italy) and Tyrol (Austria). Sequences from the 648bp barcode region of the mitochondrial COI gene were recovered from 9964 specimens and 9443 were fully barcode compliant. Species differ on average from their Nearest Neighbor by a minimum 6.38% while mean intraspecific divergence is only 0.45%. A successful, unequivocal barcode based identification was determined by comparison with barcode records obtained in other studies, pooled in Barcode Index Numbers (BIN) in BOLD (Barcode of Life Data Systems) for 2442 species, representing 95.2% of the sequenced species with BINs (2565 spp.). Identical or overlapping barcodes were found in 84 species, with all cases involving closely related or taxonomically uncertain species complexes. Deep intraspecific splits (>3%) were detected in 72 species, with these cases likely due to varied factors including Keywords: Lepidoptera, cryptic diversity, introgression and phylogeographic divergence. Finally, the impor- DNA barcoding, alpine transect, tance of DNA barcoding for advancing understanding of the Tyrolean fauna is revealed Tyrol, Italy, Austria through the discovery of 97 new records for the county. Moreover, the Authors have been made some corrections and modifications, also from a nomenclatural point of view, of the monography on the Geometridae collected in Southern Italy (Parenzan, 1994). Key words: Lepidoptera Geometridae, faunistic reports, Southern Italy.

E-mail: [email protected] Introduction Šalčininkai district is located in the south eastern part of Lithuania, close to Belarus border. Forests occupy approximately 44% of the district’s territory. Rūdninkų Giria forest complex is one of the largest forests in Lithuania. Part of it (20080,50 ha) has the status of the biosphere polygon since 2004 (State Service for Protected Areas…, 2014). Rūdninkų Giria forest and its various habitats attracted attention of entomologists since the beginning of the XX-th century (Prüffer, 1947; Kazlauskas, 1984, 2004, 2008; Ivinskis, 2004; Švitra et al., 2011, 2013; Ūsaitis, 2011). The aim of this report is to present new data on interesting records of Macrolepidoptera species collected in this region in 2013 and 2014. Material and Methods The studies of nocturnal Macrolepidoptera were carried out in Gudeliai village (54°22'33.4''N, 25°17'0.9''E) in 2013 and 2014. It is a small village (its territory is about 130 ha) located in the eastern part of Rūdninkai Giria forest complex and surrounded by Gudelių Miškas to the north and Kidarų Miškas forest to the east. The river Visinčia and Sėlų Miškas forest adjoins the village in the south. The study site was a characteristic agricultural land in a radius of at least of 150 meters. Moths were collected using Jalas model automatic light trap with a 160 W blended lamp bulb.
