Li Abstract A catalogue of the family Sesiidae in China is provided based partially on the research of the previous literature and partially on the study of the specimens in our collection. (mile-a-minute weed) is an invasive weed in natural areas and has been targeted for biological control in the United States. Host specificity of the Asian weevil Rhinoncomimus latipes Korotyaev, a potential biological control agent of mile-a-minute weed, was evaluated in China using qualitative laboratory choice and no-choice tests on 28 plant species in 18 families outside of the Polygonaceae and on 21 species within the Polygonaceae. An open-field choice-test was also conducted in China. In addition, quantitative assessments of adult and larval no-choice tests and adult-choice tests were conducted in a quarantine laboratory in the United States on 23 species of Polygonaceae (including five also tested in China) and five species in three other plant families. Adult weevils did not eat any plant species in families outside of the Polygonaceae in choice or no-choice tests. In no-choice tests with Polygonaceae, adults fed and survived for up to 30 days on a few species in the tribes Persicarieae, Polygoneae, and Rumiceae, but females did not oviposit on any plant except P. -

Data concerning distribution, type species or type genus, designation, incorrect spelling and emendation, preoccupation and replacement names, synonyms and homonyms, nomina nuda, and rejected names are given. Several new combinations and synonyms are provided. Key words: Sesioidea, systematics, taxonomy, zoogeographic regions. Introduction: Almost 25 years have passed since HEPPNER & DUCKWORTH (1981) published their 'Classification of the Superfamily Sesioidea'. In the meantime great progress has been made in the investigation and classification of the family Sesiidae (clearwing moths). Important monographs covering the Palearctic and Nearctic regions, and partly South America or South-East Asia have been made available (EICHLIN & DUCKWORTH 1988, EICHLIN 1986, 1989, 1995b and 1998, ŠPATENKA et al. 1999, KALLIES & ARITA 2004), and numerous descriptions of new taxa as well as revisions of genera and species described by earlier authors have been published, mainly dealing with the Oriental region (ARITA & GORBUNOV 1995c, ARITA & GORBUNOV 1996b etc.). -

Dicotyledon plant is 80.9%, monocotyledon plant is 9.8%, Pteridophyta is 8.1%, Gymnosermae is 1.2% among the whole plant family. Rare and endangered plants are Crypsinus hastatus, Lilium distichum, Viola albida, Rhododendron micranthum, totalling four species. Endemic plants are Carex okamotoi, Salix koriyanagi for. koriyanagi, Clematis trichotoma, Thalictrum actaefolium var. brevistylum, Galium trachyspermum, Asperula lasiantha, Weigela subsessilis, Adenophora verticillata var. hirsuta, Aster koraiensis, Cirsium chanroenicum and Saussurea seoulensis total 11 taxa. Specialized plants are 20 classification for I class, 7 classifications for the II class, 7 classifications for the III class, 2 classification for the IV class, and 1 classification for the V class, total 84 taxa. Naturalized plants specified in this study are 10 types but Naturalization rate is not high compared to the area of BaekDu-DaeGan. This survey area is focused on the center of BaekDu- DaeGan, and it has been affected by excessive investigations and this area has been preserved as Buddhist temples' woods. -

Abstract Administered by the USDA Forest Service, the Kiowa and Rita Blanca National Grasslands occupy 230,000 acres of public land extending from northeastern New Mexico into the panhandles of Oklahoma and Texas. A mosaic of topographic features including canyons, plateaus, rolling grasslands and outcrops supports a diverse flora. Eight hundred twenty six (826) species of vascular plant species representing 81 plant families are known to occur on or near these public lands. This report includes a history of the area; ethnobotanical information; an introductory overview of the area including its climate, geology, vegetation, habitats, fauna, and ecological history; and a plant survey and information about the rare, poisonous, and exotic species from the area. A vascular plant checklist of 816 vascular plant taxa in the appendix includes scientific and common names, habitat types, and general distribution data for each species. This list is based on extensive plant collections and available herbarium collections. Authors Donald L. We investigated whether a root-feeding moth found closely associated with oxeye daisy in Europe could be used as a biological control agent for the plant when weedy. We found that the moth could develop on 11 out of 74 plant species that we tested in laboratory conditions when it was given no choice of plants.
