• JTC 1 secretariat appointed from the pool of participating members by the ISO and IEC Councils • American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has been the JTC 1 Secretariat since 1987 • Support provided by the Information Technology Task Force (IITF), composed of staff from ISO and IEC • Specialized Working Groups (SWG) for special activities • Close liaison with the ITU-T is maintained
