Project Team Comments: BRM Comments:  The Project will implement about 270 subprojects in 46 districts of the country, excluding three districts of Chittagong Hill Tracts from 2010- 2017 to reduce the poverty level of the country by increasing agricultural and fishery production. 

12 Subprojects were designed in 5 districts as per the list attached (ATTACHMENT-1):  Although some of the project districts (i.e. , Manikganj etc.) are scattered habitats of Indigenous Peoples (IP)/Small Ethnic Communities (SEC), “No IP/SEC” lives in the subproject areas, according to the feasibility studies and socio-economic surveys conducted within the catchment areas of each of the subprojects. As the subprojects are small scale water resources structures related to agriculture and fisheries development, they will not have indirect negative impact on the neighboring SECs, if there is any. The subproject will also not directly or indirectly affects the dignity, human rights, livelihood systems, or culture of the neighboring IP/SECs or affects the territories or natural or cultural resources that IPs own, use, occupy, or claim as their ancestral domain.  So, all the subprojects of the above list under Dhaka division are categorized as “C” for IP safeguards.
