PRESS RELEASE N.13 12Th October 2019 GIACOMELLI
PRESS RELEASE n.13 12th October 2019 GIACOMELLI (HERITAGE), CALZOLARI (HISTORIC), NEUVILLE (WRC) AND ROMAGNA (MYTH) LEADERS AFTER DAY 2 AT RALLYLEGEND 2019 IN THE RALLYLEGEND ARENA, A PIECE OF RALLY HISTORY ON STAGE Republic of San Marino. Day two of Rallylegend 2019 confirmed the leadership of Day 1 among the Heritage, Myth and WRC cars and a new leader among Historic. This, in a nutshell, is the competitive expression of a day, lived in a truly extraordinary public hug, along the six special stages scheduled. Sandro Giacomelli, with Orian, aboard the Fiat 131 Abarth confirms his position among the Heritage, where the Trentino driver consolidates its leadership ahead of the second Stefano Avandero, with Salin, on a 1975 Lancia Stratos ex Darniche, who overcomes, behind the leader, the Battiato-Battiato duet, on the 1972 Lancia Fulvia Hf ex-Ballestrieri. The San Marino driver Giuliano Calzolari, back to racing after more than a year, leads the Historic, with Ercolani at notes on Porsche 911 SC of 1978, showing he already found the right pace, ahead of Marco Superti, with Brunetti and the Porsche Carrera RS 1972, leading at the end of Day 1, and the other local fast driver Stefano Rosati, with Toccaceli, on Talbot Lotus, third on the podium. Another expected confirmation is that of Thierry Neuville, with Gilsoul, leader of the WRC on the Huyndai i20 Coupe WRC, still ahead of his team-mate Andreas Mikkelsen, with Jaeger, at the wheel of an i20 Coupè of the 2016 HMI team. The Danish Brian Madsen, with Torstein, completes an "international" podium aboard a 1999 Peugeot 206 WRC.
