Julian Siu—Senior Associate / Manager, Proposals and Projects Julian Siu—Senior Associate / Manager, Proposals and Projects Julian Siu, GML Heritage Senior Associate and Manager, Proposals and Projects, is a built heritage expert with extensive experience in providing pragmatic solutions for heritage places. Client focused with great service delivery, he provides conservation advice, heritage impact assessment and heritage management reports for many diverse heritage assets. He has developed strategic management frameworks for heritage in the context of change for major infrastructure, urban development, precinct renewals and divestment. Julian specialises in built heritage, adaptive re-use and heritage interpretation. The line is eventually converted to tram operation during December 1987 between the current Southbank Depot and Port Melbourne. The first rail lines in Australia operated in Newcastle Collieries operated by horses in 1829. Then a five-mile line on the Tasman Peninsula opened in 1836 and powered by convicts pushing the rail vehicle. The next line to open was on 18/5/1854 in South Australia (Goolwa) and operated by horses. 1864 Leonard John Flannagan was born in Richmond. After graduating he became an Architect and was responsible for being the Architect building Malvern Depot 1910, Kew Depot 1915 and Hawthorn Depot 1916. He died 2nd November 1945. September 1873 First cable tramway in the world opens in Clay Street, San Francisco, USA. 1877 Steam tramways commence. He continues to serve on the boards of the Western Sydney University Academy and External Affairs Committee. Having served on dozens of government boards over 30 years, he was a member of the Federal/State commission that chose the Badgerys Creek Airport site and then devised an advocacy campaign to secure Cabinet support. He served on the NSW Transport & Planning Blueprint Panel that first recognised Parramatta as Sydney’s second CBD and advises News Corp’s ‘Go West/Project Sydney’ editorial campaign. Christopher chaired the WestLine Partnership, which secured a light rail connection in the Olympic Corridor, and the Western Sydney Rail Alliance, which secured $5+ billion to build north/south rail connections to Badgerys Creek. He was founding Convenor of the Parramatta Partnership Forum and the Committee for Liverpool, and now manages the Canterbury-Bankstown Forum and Advance Blacktown civic leadership forums. He chairs the South Western Sydney Local Health Advisory Board and served as an adviser to the Western Sydney Parklands. Raised and educated in Parramatta, he was awarded Australian Honours for services to industry and community in 2014.     Construction of bus and cycleway infrastructure JANUARY 2015 Construction work on Castlereagh Street, Sydney from Sunday 18 January The NSW Government is funding new and essential bus and cycleway infrastructure as part of the Sydney City Centre Access Strategy. Roads and Maritime Services will deliver this work on Castlereagh Street, between Hay Street and Liverpool Street, from Sunday 18 January to Saturday 14 March, weather permitting. Bus infrastructure New bus infrastructure will be built on the eastern side of Castlereagh Street between Hay and Campbell streets from Sunday 18 January to Saturday 14 February. The work includes: • Adjusting roads and pavements, including modifications to existing kerb lines and footpaths, lane markings and reconstruction of median kerbs • Removing and relocating loading zones and parking spaces where bus zones, bus lanes and bus layovers are proposed • Installing or removing signage. Cycleway infrastructure New cycleway infrastructure will be built on the western side of Castlereagh Street between Goulburn and Liverpool streets from Sunday 18 January to Saturday 14 March. The work includes: • Installing median for the new two-way separated cycleway • Modifying kerbs and footpaths • Removing and relocating some loading zones and parking spaces • Removing 13 Liquidambar trees and installing planters for nine new trees (species to be nominated and planted by the City of Sydney at a later date) • Adjusting services • Resurfacing and line marking.
