Données De Base COMMUNIQUÉ DE PRESSE Une grande soirée de gala pour honorer les meilleurs sportifs sédunois de 2017 Pas moins de 230 médailles et mérites sportifs seront décernés lors de la 28e soirée du sport et de la jeunesse, jeudi 15 février à 19h à la salle omnisports du Collège des Creusets. La population est cordialement invitée à y participer. Ils se consacrent à leur sport, et font briller les couleurs sédunoises sur les terrains de foot, les tatamis, dans les bassins ou sur les pistes de ski... Pour remercier tous ses sportifs méritants, la Ville de Sion organise une grande soirée de gala ouverte à tous, le 15 février prochain. Pour la 28e édition de la soirée du sport et de la jeunesse, pas moins de 230 médailles et mérites y seront décernés. Ces distinctions couronnent les résultats obtenus en 2017, aussi bien au niveau national qu’international, et cela dans 20 disciplines différentes. Pluie de médailles et de mérites sportifs Lors de cette cérémonie, la Ville remettra quelque 80 médailles sportives, pilier mythique de la promotion du sport pour tous. Améliorer ou entretenir sa santé, privilégier le plaisir avant les performances constituent des priorités pour le Service des sports, de la jeunesse et des loisirs. La Ville distribuera également des mérites sportifs dans les catégories athlète, athlète international-e, athlète populaire, prix spécial, dirigeant ou entraîneur, ainsi que des mérites sportifs athlète d’honneur et dirigeant d’honneur. La Ville de Sion veut ainsi témoigner sa reconnaissance envers les personnalités du monde du sport. Emotions fortes attendues La soirée promet d’être forte en émotions. Parmi les lauréats, on peut en effet citer Michel Stückelberger, transplanté du poumon, et qui a relevé un défi sportif en faisant preuve d’une abnégation et d’un courage exemplaires. Autres personnalités qui ont marqué de leur empreinte leur discipline sportive, Roger Constantin, une des figures du hockey sur glace, et Jean-Claude Donzé, qui s’est investi sans compter dans le développement du football. Citons encore Jonathan Fumeaux et Julien Taramarcaz, tous deux honorés pour l’ensemble de leur brillante carrière cycliste, ainsi que Flavien Antille, qui a porté haut les couleurs valaisannes dans l’univers du décathlon, épreuve reine de l’athlétisme. Durant la soirée, deux prix seront également remis. Le Prix d’encouragement de la jeunesse ira à l’association Sion-Ride, fondée en 2016, et qui s’engage pour la promotion des disciplines freeride et la défense des utilisateurs du skatepark de Sion. Le Prix coup de cœur de la Ville de Sion consacre l’association Les Farfadets, qui depuis plus de 15 ans sensibilise les enfants aux différents arts du spectacle. Enfin, le public pourra apprécier une démonstration d’art martial, présentée par le Karaté Club Valais dirigé par Olivier Knupfer, 7e Dan. Très impressionnante, cette discipline sportive née au Japon recherche l’harmonie entre la technique, les aptitudes physiques et le mental. La soirée se terminera par un apéritif auquel toute la population est cordialement invitée.
