Attending the event from Eugene was Wilburn Hampton, 102 year-old resident of Sheldon Park Assisted Living & Memory Care Center. Hampton, who spent much of his life working on the Burlington Quincy Railroad, traveled on Amtrak Cascades 504 to attend the event. He was accompanied by Diane Rowden, a Sheldon Park caregiver. Hampton was one of about 4,000 people who participated in National Train Day at Union Station.
