2.2.18 Myanmar Keng Tung Airport 2.2.18 Myanmar Keng Tung Airport Airport Overview Runway Airport Infrastructure Details Fuel Services Charges Airport Overview Keng Tung Airport is located in Kengtung, a town in eastern Shan State. Condition of the runway is good. There are three airlines; Myanmar National Airlines, Air KBZ and Air Thanlwin operates in the Keng Tung airport. There are no international airlines since this is a regional airport. air ambulance medical flight is also not available. There are regular flights taking place three times per day. The routes of the flight run from Kengtung to Yangon, Mandalay, and Heho. Since there is no fuel service at this airport, airplanes refuel at transit airport (e.g. Heho) or carry extra fuel for return journey. There is no designated helipad in place. However, it can be arranged in the apron area upon prior arrangement. No cargo handling equipment facilities in this airport. The largest plane that can be handled are 75-seat planes such as ATR-72. The runway is made of asphalt concrete and strength (PCN) is approximately 31 MT Kengtung Airport is 96.1 km away from Tachilek Airport and 269.03 km away from Lashio Airport.     AIP MYANMAR GEN 1.7-1 08 JUL 2016 GEN 1.7 DIFFERENCE FROM ICAO STANDARDS, RECOMMENDED PRACTICES AND PROCEDURES ANNEX 1 Personal Licensing (11th Edition) 1.2(a) Myanmar issues private pilot licence, commercial pilot licence, airline transport pilot licence and free balloon pilot licence only. 1.2(b) Myanmar issues aircraft maintenance engineer licence and air traffic controller licence only. 1.2.5.2.2 When the holders of airline transport pilot licence and commercial pilot licence, have passed their 40th birthday, the period of validity shall be reduced to six months. 1.2.5.2.3 When the holders of airline transport pilot licence and commercial pilot licence, have passed their 60th birthday, the period of validity shall be reduced to three months. 4.2.1.1 The applicant for aircraft maintenance engineer licences shall be not less than 21 years of age. 4.2.1.3 For the issue of a licence with privileges for the aircraft in its entirety, the applicants shall have relevant engineering degree or diploma and the experience in the inspection, servicing and maintenance of aircraft or its components at least three years.
