The month of February will go down as one of the most hectic in my term as your president. On the 4th we all showed up for nightriders. As soon as we got there one of our members experienced a problem with one of the employees in Blockbusters. This was all over our parking in the lot behind their business. When I went into discuss the matter with the individual, I got into a confrontation with him and a customer that was in the store. I decided not to call the St Lucie Police Department when the manager apologized and tried to quiet the whole situation. We then headed to Carbone's Italian Restaurant for a great pizza. This month, we also started to plan the May Car Show. A trip up to the marina site in Ft Pierce revealed that the farmers market has doubled its size and that the city wished us to move to a nice park a quarter of a mile up along the river. After visiting the site and looking at others, we decided to use the park as they suggested. We thought that we booked the date but later found out that the calendar that the clerk was using was not the "official one". Naturally the date that we wanted was taken back in January. After a lot of discussions we decided to move the date to April 25th, a week before our trip to Sarasota. Now we have at least two weeks less to put the car show together. On the 17th we had our first car show meeting at Josef's. Thanks to everyone who showed up and agreed to help out with the show. Barry Hinken has been putting in a lot of hours planning this event. The rest of the month we will be working on the car show and again please get involved. We can use all the help we can get and it is a lot of fun. Just contact Barry Hinken at 772-485-3488 We were invited to go down and visit the Corvette Club from the Palm Beaches on the 2nd. Due to bad weather, we had to reschedule the event until the 16th. We had a great turnout (24 members and 14 cars) and a nice cruise to Clematis Street. However, when we got there, they also had more members show up than they expected and thus put a heavy strain on the kitchen at Roxy's Restaurant. We did meet some great people and got to see many beautiful corvettes parked on the street. The Palm Beach Club said that they will try and give us a good turnout for our upcoming car show on the 20th. We had Brunch with Barry with another 30 members and guests coming out for breakfast. I am always looking for great locations so if you have any you want to share, please let me know. This is a great club with great cars and great members. Get active. You will be surprised at the fun that you will have. Also if you have any problems, please let me know. I am very interested in what you think and will try and correct any misunderstandings that we might have. Until next time, save the wave!
