Na Fi- prozna zbirka Život je bajka (Življenje lozofski fakulteti Univerze v Zagrebu je pravljica, 1983) in roman Forsira- je končala študij primerjalne književ- nje romana-reke (Forsiranje romana nosti in rusistike in bila vse do leta reke, 1988). Po izkušnji eksila, ki jo 1993 sodelavka Zavoda za literarno je globoko zaznamovala, se je deloma teorijo Univerze v Zagrebu, kjer se je odmaknila od fikcijske literature in ukvarjala predvsem z rusko literaturo. pričela pisati predvsem literarizirane Ob izbruhu vojne v Jugoslaviji leta eseje. V esejistični zbirki Kultura laži 1991 je zaradi pokončne protivojne (Kultura laži, 1996) v ospredje sto- drže ter javnega nasprotovanja hrva- pijo druge teme: vojna, begunstvo, ški in srbski nacionalistični politiki še vprašanje identitete, razgaljanje ne- z nekaterimi pisateljicami in novinar- varnosti nacionalizma in izpraševanje kami postala tarča domačega desni- vpliva totalitarnega režima na družbo čarskega tiska, politikov in tudi pisa- in kolektivni spomin. Ugrešićeva je pomembnejših literarnih nagrad: leta na pisateljsko pot stopila leta 1971 z 2016 t. i. ameriško Nobelovo nagrado mladinskim delom Mali plamen (Mali Neustadt International Prize for Lite- plamen), nato pa je leta 1981 izšel v rature, ki je bila prvič podeljena Evro- Jugoslaviji kultni roman Štefica Cvek u pejki, in nagrado Vilenica.1 raljama života (Štefica Cvek v krempljih življenja, 1981), postmodernistična pa- rodija trivialnih ljubezenskih romanov, s katero je dosegla širšo prepoznavnost. Roman je bil prenesen tudi na filmsko platno. (ZDA) za roman Baba Jaga je snijela jaje (Jaga baba je znesla jajce). 2012 Nagrada Jeana Améryja za evropsko esejistiko. Nagrado podeljujeta nemška založba Klett-Cotta in evropska fundacija Allianz Kulturstiftung. 2016 Nagrada Neustadt International Prize for Literature (ZDA).     ACTA UNIVERSITATIS LODZIENSIS Folia Litteraria Polonica 4(55) 2019 http://dx.doi.org/10.18778/1505-9057.55.21 Margreta Grigorowa* https://orcid.org/0000-0003-4416-371X Discourse of heresy in Polish post-WWII literature Herling’s and Herbert’s heretics Heretics, stakes, and inquisitors invaded Polish literature of the second half of the 20th century. That was visible in the outputs of renowned Polish authors who en- dured the apocalypse of World War II and the dictatorships of the last century: Gustaw Herling-Grudziński (1919–2000), a prisoner of the Gulag in Yertsevo, combatant in the Warsaw Uprising, as well as Andrzej Szczypiorski (1928–2000), a prisoner of the Lager in Sachsenhausen, Zbigniew Herbert (1924–1998), a young poet in occupied Lviv, or those who survived Soviet occupation, e.g. Czesław Miłosz (1911–2004) and Jerzy Andrzejewski (1909–1983). What heretics can be found in their works? Jacques de Molay, a Knight Tem- plar burnt at the stake together with 36 other “relentless brothers”, Albigensians, Cathars, the related Bulgarian Bogomils in Herbert’s essays in the Barbarzyńca w ogrodzie1 volume: Obrona templariuszy and O albigensach, inkwizytorach i tru- badurach. Herling-Grudziński’s short stories featured the heretic Giordano Bruno and his spiritual ally the artist Caravaggio, e.g. in the short story Głęboki cień, the mysterious heretic from Bolsena in the short story Drugie przyjście, and the legendary St. Aaron, a former heretic, stealer of the Host, who by God’s miracle was saved from the stake in the short story Legenda o nawróconym pustelniku. To that end, I will examine civil society invigoration by assessing the effect of interest organisations on policy-making at the governmental level, and the internal democracy of civil society organisations. The key claim is that despite previously diverging communist structures in Hungary, Poland and Romania, there is a convergence among these three countries in the aftermath of their transition to democracy as related to the invigoration of civil society. This claim rests on two empirical observations and one theoretical argument: (1) elitism is widely embedded in political and civil spheres; (2) patron-client forms of relationship between the state and the civil society organisations weaken the institutionalisation of policy-making. As a result, there is a gap between the general and specific aspects of institutionalisation of democracy at the levels of both the political system and civil society. The theoretical argument is that the country-specific historical legacies from the communist period have only a secondary impact on the invigoration of civil society in the period of democratic consolidation.

Lavreati Lirikonfesta Velenje 2021 Miklavž Komelj, Aleš Šteger, Ivo Svetina, Dragica Fabjan Andritsakos 20. književno srečanje z mednarodnimi gosti v Velenju (2021) Festival liričnega in potopisnega občutja / Rezervat za poezijo 13. do 16. septembra 2021 v Vili Bianca in v »Gaju poezije Velenje« Akademija Poetična Slovenija 2021 – slavnostna podelitev festivalnih nagrad in priznanj – Velenje, Vila Bianca, 14. septembra 2021 Miklavž Komelj (foto Matej Metlikovič) Šestnajstič podeljeno osrednjo festivalno literarno nagrado »velenjica - čaša nesmrtnosti« za vrhunski desetletni pesniški opus za odrasle v 21. st. letos prejme slovenski pesnik Miklavž Komelj. * * * Miklavž Komelj (1973, Kranj, živi v Ljubljani) je ustvarjalec vsestranskih razsežnosti, kot pesnik pa se je najprej uveljavil kot pisec vezane besede. V tem začetnem obdobju so ga zaznamovali petrarkistični soneti, od katerih je kasneje prešel k pisanju bolj razprtih pesniških oblik. V zadnjem desetletju je izdal vrsto zbirk, za katere pa je vendarle značilno vse od krajših fragmentarnih do daljših široko razprtih pesmi. Za krajše je značilna zenovska misel in haiku globina, medtem ko so daljše pesmi filozofsko refleksivne. V zvezi z večplastnostjo njegove avtopoetike lahko omenimo medbesedilnost in citatnost ter pomenljivo sporočilnost, ki ima svoja izhodišča v antični mitologiji, biblijski religiji, umetnostni zgodovini in kolektivnem spominu. Poetični premišljevalec zaznava denaturirano naravo, širjave kozmosa, išče univerzalno v singularnem, včasih tudi z nadrealističnimi elementi v miselni in besedni igri.

About the Author: Szczypiorski (1928–2000) was born to a well-educated family. His father organised an underground university during World War II and he was a mem- ber of the People’s Army (Armia Ludowa). For his participation in the Warsaw Upris- ing in 1944 he was arrested and detained in Sachsenhausen concentration camp. After the war, he worked for local newspapers and Polish Radio. His first literary produc- tions were released under the pseudonym Maurice St Andrew in Życie Literackie in 1952. After joining the Polish Communist Party in 1956, he worked as cultural attaché in the Polish embassy in Copenhagen and continued to publish feuilletons in numer- ous Polish magazines. He resigned from his membership in the party after the political crisis in 1968. He was forbidden to appear in public in 1969 and his texts were banned from 1972, but he continued writing in the literary underground (drugi obieg), wrote anonymously for opposition newspapers, and started working for the Polish exile monthly Kultura in Paris (Worsowicz, 2003). After his death, the right-wing media in particular discussed the evidence for Szczypiorski being a secret agent for the Polish Security Service in the 1940s (Kruczek, 2007).

BOURBON AND VODKA: A COMPARISON OF THE SOUTHERN-BLACK AND POLISH-JEWISH QUESTIONS by Bob Donnorummo Dr. Bob Donnorummo is the associate director of the Center for Russian and East European Studies at the University of Pittsburgh. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh and teaches courses on Russian and East European history. He is the author of The Peasants of Central Rus­ sia: Reactions to Emancipation and the Market, 1850-1900 (1987). Professor Donnorummo is presently researching the relationship between economic development and political legitimacy in post-1918 Poland.
