Phylogenetic signal was highly congruent and complementary between mtDNA and nuclear genes. In addition to single-nucleotide variation, shared deletions in nuclear introns supported one basal and two peripheral clades within the Aquilini. Monophyly of the Aquilini relative to other birds of prey was confirmed. However, all polytypic genera within the tribe, Spizaetus, Aquila, Hieraaetus, turned out to be non-monophyletic. Old World Spizaetus and Stephanoaetus together appear to be the sister group of the rest of the Aquilini. Spiza- stur melanoleucus and Oroaetus isidori axe nested among the New World Spizaetus species and should be merged with that genus. The Old World 'Spizaetus' species should be assigned to the genus Nisaetus (Hodgson, 1836). The sister species of the two spotted eagles (Aquila clanga and Aquila pomarina) is the African Long-crested Eagle (Lophaetus occipitalis). -

Entre ellas, se incluyen 28 especies que aparecen de forma escasa para las que se muestra su distribución espacio-temporal en 2019 mediante mapas y gráficas (véase De Juana y Garcia, 2015; Gil-Velasco et al ., 2018; Rouco et al ., 2018). Para contabilizar el número de citas para cada espe- cie escasa se revisaron las observaciones disponibles en diferentes plataformas de recogida de datos, especialmente en eBird ( eBird , 2020; Observado , 2020; Reservoir Birds , 2020 y Ornitho , 2020), des - cartando aquellas que aparentemente correspondieran a las mismas citas hechas por diferentes observa - dores con el objeto de contar con muestras de datos lo suficientemente homogéneas. Para el archipiélago canario, se incorpora un buen número de citas correspondientes al episodio de calima que se produjo a finales de febrero de 2020. Dichas circunstancias meteorológicas provocaron la arribada de muchas aves accidentales procedentes del noroeste africano de las que dará cuenta el correspondiente informe del Comité de Rarezas de SEO/BirdLife, junto con muchas otras especies de paso que se pudieron observar en las islas con mayor frecuencia y en números más altos de lo habitual, y de las que se sinte- tiza en el presente informe aquellas observaciones más relevantes. Se sigue la secuencia taxonómica de acuerdo con la nueva lista patrón de las aves de España (Rouco et al ., 2019). -

Both wings are equally paralyzed and the beak has no strength, whereas mobility and control of the head still remain. In this work we demonstrate that the probability to remedy an individual in this condition by thiamine treatment is very high. The movie is taken in the field, but the specimen is placed on a black tablecloth in order to remove disturbing background and enhance contrast. This delightful tiny country is rightly world-renowned as being the top migration hotspot, with a staggering estimated 500–750 million birds streaming through the African- Eurasian Flyway each spring, comprising over 200 different species! Israel is truly an unparalleled destination allowing one to enjoy this exceptional spectacle, especially in the spring when all are in such snazzy breeding plumage. Following the famous Great Rift Valley that bisects Israel, they migrate thousands of miles northwards from their wintering grounds in western Africa bound for rich breeding grounds, principally in central and eastern Europe. A list of the birds and mammals that use this marine ecosystem is lacking. We compiled information from varied sources and identified 172 bird and 37 mammal species that depend on the Salish Sea marine ecosystem. Of these species, 72 bird and 29 mammal species are both highly dependent on intertidal or marine habitat as well as on marine derived food. One hundred bird species and 8 mammal species that use the Salish Sea marine ecosystem have varying degrees of dependence on the marine and terrestrial ecosystems to meet significant life history needs. These interactions between the marine and terrestrial ecosystems indicate the need to integrate marine and terrestrial restoration efforts to achieve long-term conservation of the suite of birds and mammals that use and depend on the marine ecosystem. This comprehensive list of avian and mammal fauna for the Salish Sea serves as a foundation for determining the occurrence of new species and the disappearance of others, enables selection of species as indicators for ecosystem health, and also provides a basis for identifying the mechanisms responsible for marine bird and mammal declines. -
