Fund Af Småsommerfugle Fra Danmark I 2009 (Lepidoptera) Fund af småsommerfugle fra Danmark i 2009 (Lepidoptera) Otto Buhl, Per Falck, Ole Karsholt, Knud Larsen & Flemming Vilhelmsen Buh!, 0., P. Falck, O. Karsholt, K. Larsen & F. Vilhelmsen: Records of Micro lepidoptera from Denmark in 2009 (Lepidoptera). En t. Meddr. 78: 101-116. Copenhagen, Denmark, 20 lO. ISSN 00 l3-88Fil. This artide repons and comments on interesting Danish Microlepidoptera collected in 2009 and inelude remarkable findings from previous years. The classification and nomenelature follow the Danish caLc<logue (Karsholt & Stade! Nielsen, 1998) which is based on the European checklist (Karsholt & Razowski (eds.), 1996). Six species are reported as new to the Danis h fauna: l) Stigrnella stellinensis (Heinemann, 1871) (Nepticulidae). One specimen was taken in a light trap in Copenhagen; 2) Srhiffermuellrria grandis (Desvignes, 1842) ( Oecophoridae). One specimen has been collected at light on the Island Langeland; 3) Goni orlorna Iirnonieila (Stainton, 1884) (Coleophoridae). Numerous specimens have been taken both in a light trap and flying arOLmd the host planton theIsland ofRømø in south-westJutland. The species is regarded as recently estahlished; 4) fJJzotaeniorlesj(mnosana (Geyer, 1830) (Tortricidae). One specimen was k<ken in a light trap in the Copenhagen area; 5) Cydia lobarze-wskii (Nowicki, 1860) (Tortriciclae). One specimen has been taken in a light trap o n the Island Møn in southern Den mark; 6) Etpyrrhorrhoe rubiginalis (Hiibner, 1796) (Pyralidae). One specimen has been taken in a light trap on the islancl Bornholm. v\'e introduced a special list of species with uncertain status last year (Buh! el al., 2009: 67). This year the foliowing two species is transferred to this list: CalojJtilia azaleella (Brants, 1913) and Cacoecirnorpha pronubana (HLibner, 1799). Also Tuta absolula (Meyrick, 1917) (Gelcchiiclae), o f which one specimen was caught in a light trap in Copenhagen area, is placed on this list. The species is a well known pest on tomatoes spreading in Europe and now for the firs t time recordecl from Denmark. Tb e total number o f Danis h Nepticulidae is now 86; Oecophoriclae 30; Co leophoriclae 118; Tortricidae 383 and of Pyralidae 196; this results in a total o f 1560 species of Microlepicloptera (families Micropterigiclae-Pyralidae) found in Denmark. The total amount of :Vlacrolcpicloptera mentitmed Ii·om Den mark is now 962, bringing the number of Danish Lepicloptera lo a total of 2522 species. Corresponclance to: Småsommerfuglelisten, Zoologisk Museum, Universitet sparken 15, DK-2100 København Ø, Danmark (e-mail: [email protected]). HEPIALIDAE Pharmacis fusconebulosa (DeGeer). SZ: PG83 Lysholm, l stk. 20.vi.2009 (B. S. Larsen). Ny for SZ. NEPTICULIDAE Stigmella stettinensis (Hein.). NEZ: UB47 København Ø, l stk. 6.-13.v.2008. Ny for Danmark.

The list comprises 116 species of Noctuidae (26.4% of the Polish fauna), 116 species of Geometridae (28.4% of the Polish fauna) and 63 species of other Macrolepidoptera representatives (27.9% of the Polish fauna). The remaining 123 species were represented by Microlepidoptera. Nearly 10% of the species were associated with wetland habitats, what constitutes a surprisingly large proportion in such an urbanised area. Comparing the obtained data with previous studies concerning Polish urban fauna of Lepidoptera, the moths assemblages in the Botanical Garden were the most similar to the one from the Natolin Forest Reserve which protects the legacy of Mazovian forests. Several recorded moths appertain to locally and rarely encountered species, as Stegania cararia, Melanthia procellata, Pasiphila chloerata, Eupithecia haworthiata, Horisme corticata, Xylomoia graminea, Polychrysia moneta. In the light of the conducted studies, the Botanical Garden in Lublin stands out as quite high biodiversity and can be regarded as a refuge for moths within the urban limits of Lublin.

Acta univ. agric. et silvic. Mendel. Brun., 2004, LII, No. 4, pp. 17-24 Stigmella stettinensis (Heinemann, 1871) is separated from a widely distributed Stigmella minuscule- lla (Herrich-Schäffer, 1855) – a miner of pear-tree. The two species differ in colouration, in number of antennal segments and in some genitalia structures. The caterpillar of Stigmella stettinensis mines also leaves of Pyrus spp. Important characters are figured, problems of nomenclature are discussed, neotypes of the both taxa are fixed. Stigmella, Pyrus, Europe During the study of the European taxa of the Stigmella stettinensis (Heinemann, 1871) Stigmella oxyacanthella-group, we observed distinctive differences in the structure of the male Nepticula stettinensis Heinemann, 1871: 210 genitalia between the individuals of what we believed to be Stigmella minusculella (Herrich-Schäffer, 1855). • Lepidoptera) Species for the Lithuanian Fauna
LIETUVOS ENTOMOLOGŲ DRAUGIJOS DARBAI. 2 (30) tomas 47 NEW DATA ON 63 RARE MOTH (LEPIDOPTERA) SPECIES FOR THE LITHUANIAN FAUNA BRIGITA PAULAVIČIŪTĖ, VYTAUTAS INOKAITIS Kaunas T. Ivanauskas Zoological Museum, Laisvės al. 106, LT-44253, Kaunas, Lithuania. E-mail: [email protected] Introduction The first data on Lithuanian Lepidoptera were published by Carl Eduard von Eichwald (1795–1876) who was a professor of Vilnius University. In his work, Zologia specialis, 1830, he mentioned some moth species, including five species of Microlepidoptera (Ivinskis, 2003). Through the 1970’ and 1980’ numerous articles dealing with Lithuanian Microlepidoptera were published by Povilas Ivinskis, Vladimir Ivanovich Piskunov, Mikhail Kozlov, Saulius Pakalniškis, Giedrius Švitra and Ričardas Kazlauskas (Aarvik at al., 2017). More important works have been published by Povilas Ivinskis (1993, 2004). The Lepidoptera in Lithuania are not fully investigated. The last catalogue of Lithuanian Lepidoptera includes 2423 species (Aarvik et al., 2017). This article present new data on 63 rare and very rare species of moths (Lepidoptera) registered in 14 administrative districts and municipalities of Lithuania. Material and Methods The material was collected in different parts of Lithuania: in Druskininkai municipalities, Akmenė, Ignalina, Jonava, Jurbarkas, Kaišiadorys, Kaunas, Panevėžys, Šakiai, Šiauliai, Širvintos, Švenčionys, Tauragė and Varėna administrative districts. Lepidoptera were collected using an entomological net and light trapping at night (160W–500W DRL type bulb lamps were used). The major part of material was collected by the authors of this report Brigita Paulavičiūtė (B.P.) and Vytautas Inokaitis (V.I.). The rest species were collected by Vitalijus Bačianskas (V.Ba.), Vaida Paznekaitė (V.P.) and Romas Ferenca (R.F.).

  • Westenhanger Area and Kiln Wood)
Folkestone and Hythe Birds Tetrad Guide: TR13 I (Westenhanger area and Kiln Wood) One of the more interesting habitats in TR13 I is the lake at Folkestone Racecourse, which holds breeding Tufted Duck, Little Grebe, Great Crested Grebe and Coot, with these being joined by Gadwall and Pochard in winter, whilst White-fronted Goose, Barnacle Goose, Wigeon, Pintail and Goldeneye have also occurred on occasion, generally during cold weather, though the lake is prone to freezing over during prolonged frosts. Snipe can sometimes be found in the ditches by the lake and Reed Buntings breed in the surrounding vegetation, whilst Marsh Harrier and Merlin have been noted overhead. The parkland area around Westenhanger Castle used to hold Spotted Flycatchers but this species has since declined considerably. Black Redstart has been recorded singing from the racecourse buildings and may occasionally breed here. The fields in the Hillhurst Farm area may attract Lapwings and occasionally Golden Plover, whilst when left as stubble in the winter of 2013/14 they held a flock of up to 50 Yellowhammers, together with single Jack Snipe and Corn Bunting, and small numbers of Stock Doves, Sky Larks, Meadow Pipits, Linnets and Reed Buntings. Large numbers of Mediterranean Gulls may be attracted, with a peak count of about 100 in November 2013. Kiln Wood has breeding Buzzard and typical woodland species, including Nuthatch, whilst Woodcock, Siskin and sometimes Lesser Redpoll may winter and the small pond in the wood can attract Mandarin. In May 2009 a singing Wood Warbler was present but was presumably just a migrant.
