Hispanic Heritage Patch E. S. students were invited to perform at the Hispanic Heritage Presentation organized by SFC Adorno at the Patch Barracks Cha- pel. The 3rd grade FLES class decided to sing three traditional Hispanic songs. This first was "El Gallo Pinto," a song about a rooster and its beautiful colors, followed by "El Campo," a song about living in the countryside away from nosy neighbors and ended with "El Barquito," a song about a little boat that gets stuck and cannot navigate. The students enjoyed learning the songs and performing for the community and look forward to being invited to sing at other community events.

Photos by: Amy Rush

Army Family Action Plan The Army Community Service recently hosted the an- nual Army Family Action Plan (AFAP) conference. AFAP is a program that seeks to resolve significant issues that affect Army well-being. To represent the youth of USAG Stuttgart, middle and high school students were selected by their schools. They were tasked with brainstorming and prioritizing quality of life issues that the group felt needed to be addressed by the USAG Stuttgart Com- mand. The student delegates in this photo, left to right: Abigail Argo, PHS; Austin Locke, PHS and Claire Walls, BEMS are seen as they discuss issues, submitted by their peers, to improve the quality of life for all of our young military dependents. Sign Language Club The BEMS Blue Ribbon Sign Language Club recently gave a heartwarming and memo- rable performance at the recent Veteran's Day celebration held in the school's gym- nasium. In this photo the students can be seen giving their sign rendition of "American the Beautiful." The Sign Language Club is sponsored by Ms. Karen Bennett. It meets on Mondays in Room 128. If you're interested in joining the club and learning to sign, please contact Ms. Bennett. As a veteran, I'd per- sonally like to thank all the students for the special touch they gave to the best Veteran's Day celebration that I've ever been a part of. Photo by: Ed Thornburg

Yearbook Class BEMS has always had a very classy yearbook. The big reasons are the Blue Ribbon students in Mr. Lloyd's Yearbook Class. The students are taught to be 1st class photographers by Mr. Lloyd. They are then assigned to cover school events, and no event is too small for recognition. Here we see Emma McLeod setting up her camera in preparation for a photo session of the Veteran's Day Celebration. The Yearbooks are now on sale at a discount price of $45.00. To order your Yearbook see Mr. Lloyd in room 413b, or order online by visiting this website: http://community. pictavo.com/. Some good advice is to buy early before the price goes up. All of our yearbook photog- raphers deserve a big "Thank You" for make our BEMS Yearbook something special. Photo by: Ed Thornburg
