Part 1: Initial login and Forefront Identity Manager Registration

1. When you first power on the classroom/lab PC you will see the above screen. Notice you will login using your myDaltonState credentials. This is the same username/password used to login to the myDaltonState portal and email. Make sure you know what your credentials are before continuing.

2. Click to agree to abide by the Appropriate Use Policy. Fall 2012 Classroom and Computer Lab Login Instructions

3. Notice the comment “Log on to: DALTONSTATE” under the password field. This indicates that you will be logging in to the DALTONSTATE domain. Please do not click the “Reset Password” link at this point as it will not work until you have successfully logged in the first time and set up your security questions.

Enter your User name and Password and press or click the right arrow next to the Password field.

4. Read the Forefront Identity Manager Welcome screen and click .

5. This step registers you with Forefront Identity Manager. Notice your username is displayed as DALTONSTATE\username. Provide your Password and click .

6. Provide answers to the security questions when prompted. Your responses are not case sensitive so it doesn’t matter if you supply the answers all lowercase, uppercase, or mixed. It is a good idea if you will answer the questions with single word responses. That way you will be less confused when trying to answer the questions later. Click to continue.

7. Now that your Forefront Identity Manager registration is complete, click to begin using the computer.

Now that you have completed the Forefront Identity Registration, you will not be prompted to go through this process on subsequent logins. You will however, have the ability to reset your password from the login screen if you can’t remember your password.

Part 2: Password Reset – Initial login and Forefront Identity Manager Registration must be completed before attempting to reset your password.

1. If you have previously logged in successfully and completed the Forefront Identity Manager Registration, you may click the “Reset Password” link on the login screen if you cannot remember your password or you just want to change it. Fall 2012 Classroom and Computer Lab Login Instructions

3. The Domain\Username should already be populated in the form of DALTONSTATE\Username. Choose a new password and enter it. Enter it again to confirm and click .

Passwords must be a minimum of 10 characters in length and meet 3 of the following 4 criteria:

 Contain at least one upper-case letter  Contain at least one lower-case letter  Contain at least one number  Contain at least one special character

If you have configured a smartphone or tablet DSC email, you will need to reconfigure this setup to use your new password.

You will now need to use your new password to login to myDaltonState, Email, and the wireless network.
