Tim Allshouse, Blue Springs, MO Dr. Tim Allshouse, is the Director of Bands at Blue Springs High School. During his tenure the Blue Springs Band has performed in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade three times, the Tournament of Roses Parade twice and the Presidential Inaugural Parade. The Blue Springs has been a Bands of America Super Regional Finalist collectively 22 times in St. Louis, , Atlanta and San Antonio as well as a Grand National Finalist. The Blue Springs Concert and Jazz Bands have performed at the state music conference seven times in the last fourteen years. The jazz ensemble was the featured entertainment at the prestigious Tournament of Roses Presidential Breakfast as well as the National School Board Association and the SYTA Convention on two occasions. The Blue Springs Band Department is a recipient of the prestigious Sousa Foundation Award: The Sudler Shield, and is Missouri’s only Grammy Signature Music program.

Dr. Allshouse received his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University in both instrumental and music education where he studied conducting with Ray Cramer and Stephen W. Pratt. He received his masters from the University of Missouri and his doctorate from the University of Kansas.

Dr. Allshouse is active as an adjudicator, clinician, honor band conductor and drill designer. Dr. Allshouse enjoys spending time with his family and has found special joy experiencing music side-by-side with his daughters in the band program.

Ryan Brittain, Houston, TX Ryan Brittain has completed 7 years of teaching and began his career as the Associated Director of Bands at Cedar Ridge High School in Round Rock, Texas. During his time at Cedar Ridge he served as the marching band director and conductor of the symphonic band. Within a short time frame, the Cedar Ridge Marching Band was a consistent Bands of America Regional Finalist and Caption Winner, a UIL 6A State Marching Band Participant, as well as a BOA Grand National Finalist in 2013. Also in 2013, the Cedar Ridge HS Low Brass Choir was invited to perform at the prestigious Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago. Concert Bands under his direction have been awarded consistent UIL Sweepstakes awards and best in class awards at state concert band festivals. After five years of teaching at Cedar Ridge, Brittain accepted a position as the Director of Bands at Wells Middle School in Houston, Texas. He helped the program achieve sweepstakes at UIL and grew the programs numbers substantially. His final year of teaching was as the Director of Bands at Westfield High School in Houston, where he aided in the continued success of the marching band and concert bands. Brittain’s primary focus now is being an active clinician in the Houston area and running the Brittain Insurance Agency.

Nolan Loyde, Pflugerville, TX Mr. Nolan Jager Loyde received his Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of North Texas and his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin State University. Mr. Loyde is entering his tenth year of music education, and serves as the Assistant Director of Fine Arts over Instrumental Music in Round Rock ISD. Mr. Loyde previously served as Director of Bands for Cedar Ridge High School in Round Rock ISD. Throughout his educational career, concert bands and orchestras under Mr. Loyde’s direction have received consistent superior ratings at University Interscholastic League Concert and Sight Reading Evaluations. Complimentary to these achievements, the marching band programs under his direction have been consistently successful in various marching invitationals including Bands of America and University Interscholastic League Region, Area, and State Competitions.

Page 1 of 3 Mr. Loyde has been an active performer and educator across Texas for over 10 years where he has received various honors and the opportunity to perform alongside great musicians in many ensembles including the University of North Texas Wind Symphony and Lonestar Wind Orchestra. Mr. Loyde continues his professional impact by serving as a frequent adjudicator and clinician at the state and national level.

VISUAL PANEL (alphabetical by last name) Sal Adamo, Belleville, NJ Sal has 35 years of involvement in the pageantry arts activity. He has designed and coordinated numerous shows for drum corps, high school marching bands and winter guards. He continues to stay active as a Visual Consultant for several teams.

He has been an adjudicator for over 25 years and is qualified to judge all visual captions. He has adjudicated for all the premiere pageantry organizations, including Bands of America, Drum Corps Associates, , and Winter Guard International (guard and percussion). Sal has been a championship finalist judge many times for all of these organizations.

Sal is the co-founder and Chief Judge of the East Coast Judges Guild. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his grandchildren and studies watercolor painting.

Kristopher Quaale, North Richland Hills, TX Kristopher Quaale is a member of the sales and design team at Integrated Lifestyles, a Dallas-based custom audio/video integration company. Prior to working at Integrated Lifestyles, he spent 9 years as a band director at schools in the Leander, Plano, and Keller ISD’s. Mr. Quaale holds a Master of Music degree with a specialization in wind conducting from the University of North Texas, where he studied Eugene Corporon, Dennis Fisher, and Nicholas Williams. He also holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree in instrumental music from Texas Christian University. He was involved with Drum Corps International (DCI) for eleven years, where he was on the visual staff for the seven-time world champion Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps. Before teaching for The Cavaliers, he was a marching member of the Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps (2003), and The Cavaliers (2004-2006). Mr. Quaale is also active as a drill writer, clinician and adjudicator in the United States and internationally.

Lindsey Vento, Lindsey Vento is in her 18th year in the pageantry arts where she has served as an instructor, program designer, adjudicator and choreographer. She has worked with and designed for bands and color guards all across the country as the visual designer and artistic coordinator for Vento Music and Visual Designs, where she and her husband work side by side. Lindsey’s program designs have earned numerous finalist accolades in the Winter Guard International and Bands Of America arena.

She has her bachelor of music education degree and is an active dance instructor and adjudicator. Lindsey also serves on the visual team at Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps as the movement specialist and brass choreographer. Lindsey’s proudest accomplishments are her three sons, Jack, 16, Maxwell, 9 and Samuel, 8.

CHIEF JUDGE Gary Markham, Dallas, GA Mr. Gary Markham is recently retired Supervisor of Instrumental Music for the Cobb County School District in Marietta, GA. He is the former Director of Bands at Robinson Secondary School in Fairfax County, VA. He has over four decades of experience in music education, with 25 years as a high school band director and 20 years as a music supervisor. He currently serves internationally as clinician, guest conductor, adjudicator, and consultant. The Cobb County Music program has been named one of the “BEST Communities for Music Education in America, 12 times. Mr. Markham received his B. S. degree from Mansfield State University, M. Ed. degree from Penn State University, and studied for Ph. D. (ABD) in conducting and music supervision at George Mason University with Tony Maiello and Arnald Gabriel. His leadership experience includes membership on several state and national music education executive boards including the Mid-West Clinic Advisory Committee. He is currently the Senior Education Consultant and Chief Judge for Bands of America (BOA), Executive Director of the Music Administration Page 2 of 3 Collaborative, and Judge Education Director for Drum Corps International (DCI). He is a 1992 recipient of the John Philip Sousa Foundation's "Sudler Order of Merit" and the Robinson Symphonic Band is the 1992 recipient of the "Sudler Flag of Honor.” In 2006, Mr. Markham was presented with the Georgia Music Educators Administrative Leadership award and was inducted into the BOA “Hall of Fame.” In 2007, Mr. Markham received the DCI & Coltrin & Associates “Excellence in Music Education Award.” In 2009, NAfME presented the first “Excellence in Marching Music Education” to Mr. Markham for serving as chairman of the Blue Ribbon Commission for writing National Standards and a lifetime devoted to marching music excellence.
