St Mary’s Menston, a Catholic Voluntary Academy Year 12 Wider Reading List 2019-2020

Rationale: As part of our continual desire to develop the character of our pupils and to develop their reading skills, we have created and published this wider reading list. In addition to the pre-prepared homework tasks published on the school website, this list can be used to guide our pupils and parents to the books we would recommend pupils read at home. The books selected are age appropriate and reflect the following criteria:  The book develops a passion and love for the subject  The book develops the pupil’s character  The book inspires the pupil to be a virtuous person (Theological Virtues: Faith, Hope, Love. Cardinal Virtues: Practical Wisdom, Justice, Temperance, Courage)
