66 CONCLUSIONS STR 2016- WINTER (2 OF 4)

 Watford spent more than any other team in Europe. 8 of the top 10 teams in spending play in the Premier League (none in the top 8), including all 3 teams promoted this season

 Only 3 top teams (Arsenal, Juventus and Chelsea) made any investment in January. Bayern and FC Barcelona did not spent any cash on transfer fees for 5th consecutive winter transfer window

 Atlético reaches 1st position of European ranking after selling Jackson Martínez to Guangzhou. Chelsea is again in the top 2 in January, topping sales tables for 3nd year in a row. Porto’s sale of Imbula to Stoke gets it in 3rd position in Europe

 Chelsea is the top club with highest sales activity for 3rd consecutive year, followed at distance by Inter Milan. Virtually no activity recorded in most top clubs

 Imbula’s signing by Stoke for 24mio€ is the most expensive in Europe, followed by Everton’s Niasse (18m€). Both signings took place on deadline day. 9 out of 10 most expensve signings took place in England, including Rhodes by Championship club Middlesbrough
