The Kunyu Railway (Kunming–) is being extended. The construction of a high-speed railway (Kunming–) is currently being projected.

Expressways The area is home to the Jingkun Expressway ( –Kunming), Yukun Expressway (–Kunming), Hukun Expressway (Shanghai–Kunming), and Guangkun Expressway (–Kunming), etc. The Longling- section of the Kunming-Ruili Expressway is under construction, of which completion will shorten the travel time from Kunming to Ruili to 8 hours. The opening of an expressway crossing the border into Vietnam (in October 2014) shortens travel time from Kunming to to 8 hours. Airports The area is home to Kunming Changshui International Airport, Lijiang Sanyi Airport, Dali Airport, Diqing Shangri-La Airport, Dehong Airport, Baoshan Yunduan Airport, Pu'er Simao Airport, Airport, Wenshan Airport, Airport, and Airport. The expansion of Kunming Changshui International Airport is underway. Subways Kunming Rail Transit Line 1, , and the section of Line 6, which was completed during first-phase construction, are in operation. and are under construction, and the construction for and is in the planning stage.
