KOSHYARI SWORN IN AS GOVERNOR OF GOA Shri. Bhagat Singh Koshyari, who is also the Governor of Maharashtra,was sworn-in as the Governor of Goa at Raj Bhavan today. Chief Justice of Bombay High Court Shri. Dipankar Datta administered him the Oath of Office. The Governor- also received the Guard of Honour from Goa Police plateau. Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, Member of Parliament Shri. Vinay Tendulkar, Dy. Chief Minister Shri. Chandrakant Kavalekar, Minister for Revenue Smt. Jennifer Monserrate, Minister for Panchayat Shri. Mauvin Godinho, Minister for PWD Shri. Deepak Prabhu Pauskar, Speaker Shri. Rajesh Patnekar, Leader of Opposition Shri. Digambar Kamat, EDC Chairman Shri. Sadanand Shet Tanawade, former ministers Shri. Rajendra Arlekar, Shri. Damu Naik, Chief Secretary Shri. Parimal Rai, IAS, DGP Shri. Mukesh Kumar Meena IPS, Secretaries to various Departments, Senior Government officials also attended the function. Shri. Bhagat Singh Koshyari who assumed the office of the Governor of Maharashtra in September 2019 brings with him a vast and varied experience of public service. In 1997 he was appointed as a Member of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council. After the formation of the State of Uttarakhand, he was appointed as Minister of Energy, Irrigation, Law and Legislative Affairs. He was also appointed as the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand from 2001-02. He was elected to the Rajya Sabha from Uttarakhand in November 2008 and held the position till 2014. As Chairman of the ‘Committee on Petitions’ of the Rajya Sabha, he gave a report on ‘One Rank One Pension’, Railway Network in Himalayan States, besides several other important social issues. During his tenure as Energy Minister in Uttarakhand, he made sincere efforts for the rehabilitation of persons displaced by the tehri Dam. Shri. Koshyari has tremendous grassroots presence and is known in the entire State of Uttarkhand as a people’s leader.
