Yazarın önsözü Hiçbir bilgi kesin değildir. Tarih, diğer tüm bilimler gibi, doğruluğu kesin olanın ve ortaya çıkan yeni unsurlar karşısında değişenin, hatta çürütülenin yeniden sorgulanmasıdır. Bir tarafta « Akıl çemberi » ve « üstün düşünce » ve diğer tarafta duygular ve « gerçek ötesi » arasında bize önerilen seçimi kabul etmiyorum. Kendimi bir başka düzlemde konumlandırıyorum: görünür olguları, iletişimin gerçekliğini ayırt ediyorum. Özellikle de, insanlar diğer insanları sömürmeye devam etmeye çalıştıkları sürece, uluslararası ilişkilerin tamamen demokratikleşeceğine ve dolayısıyla da şeffaf olacağına inanmıyorum. Bu yüzden, kurnazlıkların ötesinde, doğal olarak uluslararası olayları gerçekleştikleri anda kesin olarak yorumlamak olanaksızdır. Gerçek ancak zamanla ortaya çıkacaktır. Anı değerlendirirken hata yapabileceğimi kabul ediyorum ama izlenimlerimi yeniden sorgulamaktan ve anlamaktan hiçbir zaman vazgeçmiyorum. Dünya bizi beklemeden tavır almaya zorlayan savaşlardan muzdarip iken bunu uygulamak daha da zorlaşıyor. Kendi adıma, kentlerine tanımadığı insanların girdiğini ve onlara kendi yasalarını dayattığını gören, kendilerini idare edenlerin zalim olduğu ve artık meydanı Batılılara bırakmaları gerektiği mantrasını yineleyip duran uluslararası televizyon kanallarını dinleyen, isyan ettiklerinde NATO bombalarıyla ezilen masumların tarafında olduğumu söyleyebilirim. Hem nesneliği gözlemlemeyi deneyen bir analist, hem de acı çeken insanlara elinden geldiğince yardım etmeye çalışan bir adam olma iddiasındayım. Bu kitabı yazarken, güncel belgelerin ve doğrudan tanıklıkların çok ötesine geçme iddiasındayım. Bununla beraber, benden önceki yazarlardan farklı olarak, ülkemin izlediği siyasetin haklılığını ortaya koyma kaygısı içerisinde olmak yerine, aynı zamanda hem nesnesi hem de öznesi olduğum olaylar arasındaki bağlantıyı anlama çabası içerisindeyim. Bazıları görüşümü açıklamadığımı, tersine gerçekte yaptıklarımı haklı göstermeye çalıştığımı ve bilerek ya da bilmeyerek, açıkça taraf tuttuğumu ortaya koyduğumu ileri süreceklerdir. Onların gerçeğin ortaya çıkarılması sürecine katılmalarını ve dikkate almadığım belgeleri yayınlayacaklarını ümit ediyorum. Bu olaylar içerisinde oynadığım rol sayesinde, özellikle geniş halk kesimlerinin ve çoğu zaman başka birçok aktörün de bilmediği, çok sayıdaki unsuru öğrenme ve inceleme imkanı buldum. Bu bilgileri sadece ampirik yollarla elde ettim. Ancak daha sonra, gün geçtikçe yaşanan olayların mantığını daha iyi anlamaya başladım. Okuyucuya kullandığım düşünsel yolu izleme imkanı vermek için, Arap Baharının Genel Tarihi’ni değil, ama üç farklı bakış açısıyla üç kısmi tarih yazdım: Art arda gelen Fransız hükümetlerinin, Müslüman Kardeşler’in ve ABD yetkililerinin tarihi. Sadece kendi çıkarlarının peşinden koşan Fransız yöneticiler, ne Müslüman Kardeşler’in, ne de ABD’li efendilerinin mantığını anlama çabası içerisinde olmadılar. Tek kaygıları sömürgeciliğin sağladığı faydalara yeniden kavuşmak ve bu yolla ceplerini doldurmaktı. Müslüman Kardeşler iktidara gelebilmek, halklara egemen olmak için yürüttükleri mücadeleye Fransa’yı nasıl dahil edebileceği üzerine kafa yorarken, Birleşik Krallık ve Amerika Birleşik Devletlerinin hizmetine girdi. Ne olup bittiği ve neyin hazırlıklarını yaptıklarına ilişkin bilgilere sadece Washington ve Londra sahipti. Dolayısıyla ortaya çıkan sonuç Rus Matruşka bebeklerine benziyor: kendiliğinden gelişmiş gibi görünen olayların örgütlenmesini, bazı kararların en ince ayrıntı ve ilintileri sonucunda oluştuğunu ancak zamanla anlayabiliyoruz. Tanık olduklarım, aynı konu hakkında okuyucularımın bugüne kadar duyabildiklerinden öylesine farklı ki, kimileri yazdıklarımın doğurabileceği sonuçlardan ötürü korkuya kapılacaktır. Bazıları ise aksine bu devasa yönlendirme ve buna son verme yöntemi üzerine kafa yoracaktır. Yüzlerce gerçeği ortaya koyan bu kitabın, daha sonra düzeltmemin isteneceği bazı yanlışları içermesi de olasıdır. Bu durum gün ışığına çıkardığım bağıntılardan bir iki tanesi için söz konusu olsa da, bunların ezici toplamının rastlantısal olması kesinlikle mümkün değildir. Hiç şüphe yok ki emperyalizm taraftarları, fetiş deyimleriyle beni « komploculukla » suçlama fırsatını kaçırmayacaklardır. Bu, on beş yıldır yineledikleri ucuz bir hakarettir. 11 Eylül 2001 saldırılarının resmi anlatımına karşı çıktığım günden beri bunu fazlasıyla kullandılar. Yalanlarında ısrar ediyorlar ve ABD’de, Fransa’da, Belçika’da, v.b. katliam gerçekleştirmekle suçladıkları El-Kaide’yi Libya ve Suriye’de açıkça destekleyerek kendilerini ele veriyorlar. Sonuç olarak samimi olan herkesin, küçük hatalar düzeltildikten sonra ortaya çıkan gerçekler toplamına mantıklı ve uyumlu bir açıklama önererek

On the Mythologies and Ethics of Non-violence: What Do Murray Rothbard and Hugo Chavez Have in Common? Master‘s Thesis, Ankara, 2014. This thesis analyzes the relationship between political ideology, power, and non-violent struggle as portrayed by the American thinker Gene Sharp. The means of this analysis is a comparison and contrast between libertarian and socialist critiques of his work for the purpose of discovering reoccurring themes. More specifically, it compares an anarcho-libertarian dialogue from the early 1980s to socialist literature in the late 2000s. It‘s concludes that the fault line in both conversations is the tension between Leninist strategic theory and the Progressive Substitutionary theory of non-violence. Among much else, Carl reminds us of that brief period, ending perhaps in 2007 or 2008 when left spokespeople like Robert Fisk, Alexander Cockburn, Tariq Ali,and others, contended with 9/11 truth activists – -Fisk calls them “ravers” (as in stark, raving, mad). For this period, ravers persisted in expressing their unhappiness with the refusal or the inability of these luminaries to address the glaring evidence that 9/11 was an inside job. 3. “WTC Building 7, the Smoking Gun?,” by Ronald Bleier (2005) Editor’s Note: The first book I read that debunked the official account of 9/11 was Eric Hufschmid’s Painful Questions; An Analysis of the September 11th Attack (2002), still a book well worth reading, Hufschmid was skeptical about hijackers, although at that early date he believed that planes actually crashed into the WTC.
