BOOKENDS – the Music of Simon & Garfunkel Friday, January 15, 2009 / 8pm

Stouffville, ON…Lebovic Centre for Arts & Entertainment – Nineteen on the Park kicks off 2010 and the second half of its inaugural Professional Series with BOOKENDS – the Music of Simon & Garfunkel on Friday, January 15 at 8pm. Join two of Canada’s most talented and respected musicians as they celebrate the songs and stories of the legendary Simon & Garfunkel.

The emotional straightforwardness of ’s lyrics and the simple purity of ’s vocals have made this extraordinary duo enduring musical icons. A stirring musical journey through all the classic hits, from The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin’ Groovy), Homeward Bound and The Boxer , to Paul Simon’s solo hits such as 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover and Kodachrome - with a few surprises in between!

Kevin Fox and Patrick Allcock create a duo unlike any other. These two talented professional musicians portray the sometimes unstable relationship and outstanding musical contributions of Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel through song. These two respected musicians are not only captivating to listen to, but are extremely entertaining and well-respected in their own right.

Artistic Biographies

KEVIN FOX, a Halifax native, has used his exceptional vocal talents to perform with legendary artists such as Chantal Kreviazuk and . He has composed arrangements for artists such as Celine Dion and Blue Rodeo. Fox has also worked alongside Sum 41, David , Sarah Harmer and more.

The Toronto Star says that Fox is "an original and accomplished songwriter and . Stylistically impossible to peg, he roams between acoustic folky pop and high-end cinematic art music, yet his lyrics - compelling observations about the pain of love and the acquisition of wisdom - are as sharp and focused as any seasoned poet's, and his voice, an absolutely amazing instrument, soars like an angel."

Singer-songwriter PATRICK ALLCOCK was born in and has been in both original bands and cover bands. Allcock has played a variety of music from respected artists such as Ron Sexsmith, Glen Tillbrook, and Kim Stockwood.

This multi-instrumentalist has been playing the drums since he taught himself how to play at the age of eight and is also an accomplished pianist. Playing as part of a duo with friend, Tim Bovaconti, Allcock's music can be heard in and around Toronto.
