N’en finirons-nous jamais avec ce sujet nocif? NON! C'est le prochain de la série de The Iron Curtain Over America: Après avoir tracé la Chevalerie de l'Ordre Teutonique depuis son origine jusqu'à sa dissolution comme une confrérie militaro-religieuse, et après avoir constaté le développement des souverainetés ultérieures jusqu'à l'anéantissement de la Prusse en 1945, nous devons retourner de plus de mille ans en arrière pour examiner un autre fil conducteur -- un rouge -- dans l’écheveau de l'histoire Européenne. Dans les dernières années du premier millénaire vaguement enregistré de l'ère Chrétienne, des peuples slaves de plusieurs tribus proches occupaient la terre qui est devenue connue plus tard comme la portion centre-nord de la Russie Européenne. Au Sud d'entre elles entre les rivières Volga et Don et au nord des nobles Montagnes du Caucase vivait un peuple connu dans l'histoire comme les Khazars. Ces peuples avaient été chassés vers l'ouest de l'Asie Centrale et sont entrés en Europe par le couloir entre les Montagnes de l'Oural et la Mer Caspienne. Ils ont trouvé une terre occupée par une population pastorale primitive d'une vingtaine ou plus de tribus, une terre qui se trouvait au-delà des frontières de l'Empire Romain à son apogée sous Trajan (a régné 98-117 après J-C), et également au-delà des frontières de l'Empire Byzantin (395-1453). Par des étapes lentes les Khazars ont étendu leur territoire finalement à la Mer d'Azov et au littoral adjacent de la Mer Noire. Les Khazars étaient un peuple apparemment de souches mélangées avec des affinités Mongoles et Turques. Vers l'an 600, une tribu belliqueuse de peuple à demi-mongol, similaire aux Turcs modernes, conquit le territoire de ce qui est maintenant la Russie méridionale. En peu de temps, le royaume [khanat] des Khazars, nom sous lequel cette tribu a été connue, s'étendait de la Mer Caspienne à la Mer Noire. Sa capitale, Ityl, à l'embouchure de la Volga.     HAZAR TÜRKÇESİ VE HAZAR TÜRKÇESİ LEKSİKOLOJİ TESPİTİ DENEMESİ Pınar Özdemir* Özet Eski Türkçenin diyalektleri arasında sayılan Hazar Türkçesi ma- alesef ardında yazılı eserler bırakmamıştır. Çalışmamızda bilinenden bilinmeyene metoduyla hareket ede- rek ilk önce mevcut Hazar Türkçesine ait kelimeleri derleyip, ortak özelliklerini tespit edip, mihenk taşlarımızı oluşturduk. Daha sonra Hazar Devleti’nin yaşadığı coğrafyada bu gün yaşayan Türk hak- larının dillerinden Karaçay-Malkar, Karaim, Kırımçak ve Kumuk Türkçelerinin ortak kelimelerini tespit ettik. Bu ortak kelimelerin de leksik ve morfolojik özelliklerini belirledikten sonra birbirleriyle karşılaştırıp aralarındaki uyumu göz önüne sererek Hazar Türkçesi Leksikoloji Tespitini denedik. Anahtar Kelimeler : Hazar, Karaçay-Malkar, Karaim, Kırımçak, Kumuk AbstraCt Unfortunately there is not left any written works behind Khazar Turkish which is deemed to be one of the dialects of old Turkish. In our work primarily key voices, forms and the words of Khazar Turkish have been determined with respect to the features of voice and forms of the existing words remaining from that period. Apart from these determined key features it have been determined the mu- tual aspects of Karachay-Malkar, Karaim, Krymchak and Kumuk Turkish which are known as the remnants of Khazar and it has been intended to reveal the vocabulary of Khazar Turkish. Kertzer, the Director of Interreligious Activities of The North American Jewish Committee and the President of the Jewish Chaplains Association of the Armed Forces of the United States. In his present capacity as official spokesman for The American Jewish Committee, the self-styled "Vatican of Judaism", Rabbi Morris N. Kertzer wrote a most revealing and comprehensive article with the title, "What is a Jew" which was published as a featured article in Look Magazine in the June 17, 1952 issue. In that article Rabbi Morris N. Kertzer evaluated the significance of the Talmud to "Judaism" today. In that illuminating treatise on that important subject by the most qualified authority, at the time, Rabbi Morris N. Kertzer stated: "The Talmud consists of 63 books of legal, ethical and historical writings of the ancient rabbis. It was edited centuries after the birth of Jesus. It is a compendium of law and lore. IT IS THE LEGAL CODE WHICH FORMS THE BASIS OF JEWISH RELIGIOUS LAW AND IT IS THE TEXTBOOK USED IN THE TRAINING OF RABBIS:" (emphasis supplied).     GRANHOLM GENEALOGY BYZANTINE ROYAL ANCESTRY Emperors, 578-1453 1 INTRODUCTION During the first half of the first century Byzantium and specifically Constantinople was the most influentional and riches capital in the world. Great buildings, such as Hagia Sophia were built during these times. Despite the distances, contacts with the Scandinavians took place, in some cases cooperation against common enemies. Vikings traded with them and served in the Emperors’ Court. Sweden’s King Karl XII took refuge there for four years after the defeat in the war against Peter the Great of Russia in Poltava. Our 6th great grandfather, “ Cornelius von Loos” was with him and made drawings of many of the famous buildings in that region. The Byzantine lineages to us are shown starting fr o m different ancestors. There are many royals to whom we have a direct ancestral relationship and others who are distant cousins. These give an interesting picture of the history from those times. Wars took place among others with the Persians, which are also described in the book about our Persian Royal Ancestry. Additional text for many persons is highlighted in the following lists. This story begins with Emperor Tiberius II, (47th great grandfather) born in 520 and ends with the death of Emperor Constantine XI (15th cousin, 17 times removed) in battle in 1453. His death marked the final end of the Roman Empire, which had continued in the East for just under one thousand years after the fall of the Western Roman Empire. No relations to us, the initial Emperor of the Byzantine was Justin I , born a peasant and a swineherd by initial occupation, reigned 518 to 527.

Men neemt aan dat rond de gloriedagen van het koninkrijk in de 8e of de 9e eeuw het Judaïsme de staatsgodsdienst werd op bevel van de koning. Op dat moment overheerste het Khazar khaganaat en vazalstaten veel van wat tegenwoordig Zuid-Rusland, West-Kazakhstan, Oost-Oekraïne, Azerbaijan, grote delen van de Kaukasus (inclusief Circassia, Dagestan, Chechnya en delen van Georgië) en de Krim is.

Kelley, FASG 1 ABSTRACT This is the second part of an article on the hereditary Jewish rulers known as Exilarchs, claimed as male-line descendants of King David. This part focuses on the eighth-century Exilarch Solomon, identified as a grandson of the Exilarch Bustanai and the Persian princess. Solomon was of high social standing, based on his learning and wealth from trade, as well as his ancestry. It is plausible that he was involved in the conversion of the Khazar rulers to Judaism and in the Bagratid claim of descent from the House of David. Genealogical evidence is crucial in identifying Solomon with the Jew Forty Cubits, described by both Islamic and Byzantine traditions as the influence behind the implementation of iconoclastic policies in their societies. At its height, the empire was nearly as large as the neighbouring Byzantine empire to the south, but the population density was much less. The Khazars were in regular contact with China, especially along the old Silk Road. Their crucial location for trading and their economic base, so different from the Mediterranean or north-western Europe, can be well appreciated in the maps of Martin Gilbert. Their empire expanded westward, as they separated from the West Turkish empire, of which they had originally been a part.

    History of the world civilization. Book 2, part 2. Middle Ages. To the memory of Ja.N.Ljubarskij (1937-2003). Introduction: The idea of “Middle Ages” was introduced by the Humanists of 15th century, who called so the period from the end of the Western Roman Empire (476) to the epoch of Renaissance, when they lived. Middle Ages were understood by them as a period of decay. The Humanistic point of view was accepted in the Western historiography, albeit already from the beginning of 19th century one began to find something positive in it, for example, the outstanding part, played by the church (Catholic in the West and Orthodox in the East) and knighthood, the appearance of the cities, universities, secular culture etc. The chronographic frames of the Middle Ages were defined in different ways. His beginning was thought to be not only the date, proposed by Humanists, but also more earlier dates (taking over of Rome in 455 by Vandals or by Goths 410, partition of the Roman Empire into the Western and the Eastern 395 or even the moving of capital to Constantinople 330). The opinions about the date of ending of medieval time differed too (the fall of Constantinople 1453, discovering of America by Columbus 1492 or the beginning of Reformation 1517). By these datings the history of the countries of Asia and Africa was not taken into account at all, albeit they reached exactly in this time the high level of development, which could be compared with the European and oft was ahead of it, but the important events of European history only were taken as the base of periodisation.
