The daily Egyptian daily Gomhouria of 10/3/2016 has quoted the Chairman of the Arab Roads Society, Eng. Mohamed Salah El Din, revealing that the Bridge, according to studies conducted later, would now cost $ 6 billion for completion in 3 years. According to Eng. Salah El Din, the Bridge may start, on Egypt side, at Ras Nosrani, 30 Km from Sharm El Sheikh, to the south of Dahab to extend 23 Km to the Western Coast in Ras Hemeid in Saudi Arabia apart from 8 Km long access in each country in both directions. The trip will take about 20 to 30 meters. Eng. Salah El Din has further predicted return of investment could be achieved in 8 to 10 years.

On his side Arabco President, Eng. Mohsen Salah, praised Arabco performance on the project & identified it as the largest hospital in the Middle East & the 6th largest world wide. Meanwhile President Mohsen Salah took the opportunity to check progress of the company's performance on another KD 261 million 53 Km long high way project, also built by Arabco in Kuwait, now executing its third phase after having inaugurated its second phase in January 2016 last. Loans & Grants New outpatients clinics worth $ 14 million (JY 1,65 billion) are now constructed as annex to Abu El Rish Pediatrics Hospital built initially by Japan. That was reported in Nov 03, 2016 the media indicating that the Minister of Economic Cooperation, Dr. Ms Sahar Nasr, has recently visited the hospital accompanied with a high ranking representative of Jaica Agency & the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Cairo University. Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohamed Al Qassemi, Prince of Sharja Emirate in the UAE has extended L.E. 15 million grant to build a medical complex to host Al Qanater Al Nov 01, 2016 Khayriya Hospital for Toxic treatment & burns. That was reported in the media indicating Nov 13, 2016 this is the highest volume of tourist arrivals since the accident of the Russian plane and embargo imposed by Russia on similar flights to Egypt. Similar striking tourist arrival figures were reported at other tourist destinations including Luxour & Aswan. Neutral observers predict, yet so far low tone, tourist arrivals and hotel occupation rates to hit unprecedented levels in the remaining 2016/ 2017 season & thereafter. The US has classified Egypt on the map of secured travel and tourist destinations to receive US citizens. That was reported in the Independent Newspaper of the UK Nov 24, 2016 considering Egypt among the most secured countries for Americans to spend their holidays. Still the newspaper report hinted that no clear signals exist, so far, on the return of UK tourists back to Sharm El Sheikh revealing that about 500,000 tourists were obliged last year to cancel their trips to the city. The paper reminded that Egypt has spent more than Stg. 20 million to raise security levels at Egyptian airports. On his side Egypt's Minister of Tourism the UK Government refrained from sending any signals on chances to resume UK tourists flights to Egypt.

Tourists & Travel Companies operating in Egypt have issued during the month of November 2016 about 86 licenses for new branches with other 15 companies Dec 06, 2016 submitting their financial statements presently under checking. That was revealed in a report issued by the Tourist Companies Sector at the Ministry indicating that the same month witnessed also the issuance of 22 new tourist guides licenses and the renewal of other 134 licenses for the same caliber. On top the reports noted that 1,107 tourist vehicles were tested and found matching tourist criteria. Nov 06, 2016 That was reported in the daily Al Alam Al Youm of 11/6/2016 now indicating that the deal relates to the rescheduling of loans worth L.E. 2.05 billion to be repaid in three years time, also the postponement of the payment of due interest on the said payments till (end of) 2016 to be settled by the end of 2017. The deal involves the settlement of L.E. 300.4 million of total L.E. 1.08 billion short term facilities and the rescheduling of the remaining L.E. 781.6 million under a (so called) consolidated loan for settlement in 8 years. The agreement also provides for the settlement of L.E. 133.7 million, part of medium term loans valued L.E. 1.4 billion and rescheduling the remaining value of L.E. 1.26 billion for settlement over 7.5 years. Egyptian Countryside Development Company has invited both investors, also farmers & young Egyptians, to acquire land properties and water wells at the 1.5 million Oct 20, 2016 feddans development project. That was formally announced in the media indicating that the offer is part of developing the first 500,000 feddans trench of the project. Here investors, whether individuals or consortia, are invited to acquire land lots of 2,000 feddans or more to develop it and establish agricultural & urban societies thereon involving with agriculture, agro industries, animal, poultry & fish wealth development, logistic services, travel and tourism, within areas located in El Farafara, Al Moghora, Toshki & West of West El Menia. Prequalification dossier defines all qualification criteria and require documents & it is to pick up as of 10/25/2016 till 11/20/2016 daily from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. excluding Fridays, Saturdays & holidays. That was reported in the media quoting GAFI monthly report indicating that 400 companies were established via law 159/1981 & the remaining 386 companies established under the investment law 8/97. Egyptian contribution to the (issued) capital of those companies was L.E. 1.85 billion (or 92.9%) while Arab contributions was L.E. 121.2 million (or 6.1 %). Of the said number (786) 142 companies involved with industrial activities, 50 companies with construction activities, 25 companies with I.T. & 12 with agriculture.

An Egyptian Saudi Steel Complex was launched to be located in Ein Al Sukhna involving $ 1 billion estimated investments. Project is a joint venture between SCA - Suez Oct 19, 2016 Canal Authority & Prince Walid Bin So'oud Bin Messa'id Bin Abdul Aziz, owner of Al Khebrat Al Dowaliya Co. That was reported in the media Nov 22, 2016 quoting informed sources indicating that NB Capital, established in June 2005 and capitalized at KD 15.6 million, is seriously considering further investments and acquisitions in Egypt related to healthcare, education and food industries. Media reports noted that the past two years witnessed strong Kuwaiti interest in the education sector and that started with Abraj Capital for direct investment of the UAE acquiring an influential share in Cairo Company for Investment & Development, which owns about 25 schools in Egypt. Projects in Pre-Tendering Phase The Morocco based Arrow Investment Company announced plans to invest almost $ 200 million in the insurance industry, the medical and healthcare industry and in Nov 24, 2016 medical analysis laboratories. Final agreement on each of those deals is expected by the end of 2017.
