GRAVESEND RUGBY CLUB is the latest club in the Region to seek out a ‘twinning’ arrangement with a French club. They are in the early stages of making plans to visit a pétanque club in Gravesend’s twin town of Cambrai in Northern France in August.

A poor entry of just 27 teams travelled to Loughton in JUNIORS & LADIES Essex to contest the National Triples title. This included a smattering of 16 players from the usual DOUBLES South East clubs who support national events - GRFC, Hartley and the Plough & Chequers. Sweden looking to retain the title for a third year and playing on home soil surprisingly faltered and could only finish in fourth place with 33 wins.
