Welcoming New Transnet Leaders Dear Colleagues,

On the 28 February 2020 we communicated the changes to our executive structure. We are happy to announce that afer extensive interviews and consultations, we have now filled some of the executive positions.

Transnet SOC Ltd would like to extend a warm welcome to the new members of our Executive Commitee, who will assume their positions with effect today, 1 April 2020.

These appointees bring an impressive and diverse range of skills, coupled with a wealth of experience and knowledge to help steer Transnet’s business operations.

As the company embarks on a major organisational transformation, in the midst of managing our new-normal as a result of the impact of the COVID-19 on our operations, a strong and stable leadership team is required to ensure that oversight is not compromised.

We will be announcing additional appointments as and when the vacancies are filled. The following Executive appointments have been approved by the Transnet SOC Ltd Board of Directors: Ms Siza Mzimela has been appointed as the Chief Executive of , joining us afer serving 18 months as interim CEO of SA Express. Siza is a seasoned business executive with almost 30 years’ indus- try experience, gained in various senior roles across diverse industries and in both the public and private sector.

She started her career at Standard Bank and later worked for Total SA before moving into aviation. In 2010 Siza was the Group Chief Executive Officer at , which at the time was the continent’s larg- est airline with a turnover of R24-bn and presence in more than 40 interna- tional locations. She was also one of the founding members who launched the first majority black female-owned commercial airline in , Sizakele Mzimela Fly Blue Crane, which held both domestic and international licenses. Siza’s extensive experience in running complex logistical entities will see Chief Executive her lead and direct the delivery of reliable freight transport and handling Transnet Freight Rail services to satisfy customer demands. As incoming CE, Siza will ensure the reliability of our freight system through competitiveness and on-time scheduling to lead the growth and development of Transnet’s largest opera- tions.

She has a BA Economics and Statistics from the University of Swaziland, a Certificate in Management from Henley College and a Certificate of the Mr Vuledzani Nemukula has been appointed as the Chief Procurement Officer, afer spending several years as CEO of global trading and logistics management company Oreport. Vuledzani has 26 years’ of experience in supply chain management gained in large organisations, both private and public. In 2011 he led the procurement services at Telkom as its Group Executive for Procurement Services afer spending six years as Chief Pro- curement Officer at Eskom.

Vuledzani will be responsible for leading the company’s procurement efforts to enable cost centre owners such as Operating Divisions and Business Units to maximise the value they receive from suppliers in order Vuledzani Nemukula to meet their objectives. Chief Procurement Officer He has a BSc from the University of ; an MBA from the Universi- ty of Wales in the United Kingdom; Advanced Business Management Pro- gramme (AMP) from the University of ; Advanced Manage- ment Programme from INSEAD and Oxford Executive Leadership Pro- gramme (OELP) from Oxford University (Saïd Business School). Mr Pandelani Munyai will also be joining Transnet as its Chief Information Officer afer serving as a Technology, Business Strategy and Innovation Executive at Liquid Telecom, where he was responsible for developing a digital transformation strategy to transform and overhaul old business processes.

Prior to that he spent several years as the Chief Technology Officer at the State Information Technology Agency (SITA).

As incoming CIO, Pandelani will ensure that information and communica- tion technology (ICT) is a strategic enabler for the Transnet group, deliver- ing on cost effective and innovate solutions to support and facilitate the Pandelani Munyai groups’ overall business strategy.

Chief Information Officer Pandelani has a Master of Business Leadership from UNISA, a Master of Electronic Engineering from the University of Pretoria, a BSc Electrical Engineering from the University of Cape Town and a BSc Physics and Mathematics from the University of Venda. Mr Mark Gregg-Macdonald will leave his role as the Group Executive in Business Services to serve as both Group Treasurer and Acting GCFO until a new GCFO is appointed.

Mark is a seasoned senior executive at Transnet, having worked 18 years in the company where he previously held the positions as Group Executive Planning, Monitoring & Sustainability, Group Executive of Freight Corri- dors & Commercial and CFO Transnet Port Terminals.

In his new role, Mark will be responsible for Transnet’s funding strategy as well as managing rating agencies, investor and lender relationships - all of which are critical to managing the overall finances of the organisation. Mark Gregg-Macdonald He has a Bachelor of Accounting Science (Hons) degree from the Universi- Group Treasurer and Acting ty of South Africa and qualified as a Chartered Accountant (SA). He is also a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants. Group Chief Financial Officer Transnet SOC Ltd Group Chief Executive Ms. Portia Derby described the appointments as “essential to the stability of our operations.”

“This announcement comes at a critical time in Transnet’s development. As a key stakeholder of the South African economy and the rest of the continent, we have to ensure that all our business operations are working in unison, to deliver on the promises to our customers, employees and even ourselves.

“A capable and inspiring leadership team is essential if we are to deliver on that mandate,” Ms Derby added. “I have no doubt that our new executives will ensure that happens.
