Concrete® Sportanlagen GmbH Skate Catalogue 2008 For the last 50 years Hermann Rudolph Baustoffwerk has been dealing with concrete. Therefore we are claiming to know all about the subtleties of this material. We have Skate Catalogue 2008 more than 150 employees as well as an in-house engi- neering and design department with 18 engineers and technicians. Furthermore we can now take advantage of the extensive experience we gained through design- ing and producing high-class elements for the building industry. This is of great benefit for our leisure facilities. Our leisure facilities are distributed by Concrete ® Spor- tanlagen GmbH. Experience in cooperation with the target groups, the awarded engineering offices, the city councils and the mu- nicipalities shows that the creation of a fantastic and, and as a result also highly frequented, skate park is hardly possible without communication with everyone involved.

Skatepark Design and Management
www.tridentinsurance.net Skatepark Design and Management Line of Business: Property, General Liability Risk Control Strategy/Key Issues: To establish procedures and guidelines for the safe design, construction, and operation of skateboarding parks. Suggested Program Elements: 1. Construction & Design: 2. Operation 3. Maintenance 4. Signage 5. Security 1. Construction & Design: • A licensed and insured contractor specializing in planning, design, and construction of skateboard parks should be used. Good contractor policies and procedures should be established. Contractors should have their own project specific insurance policy that meets specified limits of liability. Certificates of insurance coverage should be obtained and verified. • Fire Planning - Even an all-concrete indoor park should need fire detection systems and fire protection/a sprinkler system. Check with local authorities to determine what precautions are necessary. • Emergency Egress - Emergency access to all areas, even the bottoms of concrete bowls, should be provided to facilitate extrication of injured participants. • Handicapped Access - In keeping with the Americans with Disabilities Act, access to the facility, parking, restrooms, and viewing areas should be fully accessible. • General Access - The site should be fenced. There should be a minimum of six (6) feet to control access and the facility should be locked after hours. Ample parking should be provided. Provide safe areas for spectators to assemble, so that they are screened from activity. • If the facility is to be operated at night, the facility should be well lit. • Building – There should be high ceilings, no poles, and a smooth but “sticky” surface. Concrete surface should not be “brushed”. • Segregation - Set up separate areas for beginner, intermediate, and advanced skaters. -

CONCRETE SKATEPARKS Design and construction of a skateboarding recreational facility Bachelor’s thesis Degree Programme in Construction Engineering Visamäki, Autumn 2015 Teodor Daskalov Teodor Daskalov ABSTRACT Visamäki, Hämeenlinna Degree Programme in Construction Engineering Author Teodor Daskalov Year 2015 Commissioned by Windmill Skate Company Subject of Bachelor’s thesis Concrete Skateparks– Design and construction of a skateboarding recreational facility ABSTRACT This Bachelor’s thesis was commissioned by Windmill Skate Company. The purpose of the thesis was to thoroughly research and describe the setup, planning, design, and construction of an efficient concrete skatepark by fo- cusing on the execution of the building process and the engineering aspects and requirements. One aim was to provide better understanding on the whole concept behind building a skatepark and point out and analyze different challenges in its construction. Another aim was to show the importance of skateboarding and of having such a facility in any municipality for the well-being of the young commu- nity and of youth in general. All research information was both gathered from various internet re- sources and presented by Windmill Skate Company. The result of this thesis was the creation of a skatepark construction guide for familiarizing oneself with the basics of design, planning and building of such an athletic reinforced concrete facility. It can serve as a reference for getting better acquainted with this particular branch of construction and its different aspects and details. For most skateboarders and in-line skaters skating is not only a sport, but a way of life. Skating is the latest trend and has already become a ubiquitous aspect of our mobile culture. The perfect combination of fun and sport already has more than 17 million fans in Europe. What was once a sporting trend has long become the most popular fitness sport in our towns and cities. Skateboarding is one of the most important sports performed by young people all over the world. The main meeting points for skaters are roads, cycling paths and public squares, so that problems with other road users and pedestrians are to be expected. That is why we have to create zones for our children and young people in which they can satisfy their "thirst for adventure" without becoming a problem for others. We can help you to provide attractive and multifunctional activity zones that correspond exactly with young people's needs. More and more skateboarders, in-line skaters and BMX bikers worldwide enthuse about the skating facilities. Over many years of cooperation with the "skaters" in Europe we have developed products that can stand up to any international comparison. The ratio between the length, breadth and height of the skating facilities are perfectly adapted to one another, thus producing ideal skating conditions.
