Beth ^amadrosh Hagodel 518 Gearing Ave. Pittsburgh, Pa. Dear Mr. Goldstein: We received a report from our Field Director, Mr. I. Geller, who has recently visited your city, that you have promised to have an appeal made for Hias to the worshippers of your worthy synagogue on Yom Kippur, September 30th, 1933.

We are sure that as a man of affairs you know that Hias must now give first aid, guidance and advice to those of our brothers and sisters who are now being forced to flee from Germany because of racial hatred. We are trying our utmost to relieve their miserable lot, and we feel that every considerate person should now help us in our efforts on behalf of these exiles* We are confident that substantial amounts will be raised on that occasion. Assuring you of our gratefulness for your readiness to cooper- ate with us,* . » Very sincerely yours,

"President,
