4 1 Otmoor Ride 1. St Mary the Virgin, Charlton-on-Otmoor Ride the Tour 2017 A small medieval church with a magnificent C16 rood screen which is the focus of a traditional May Day celebration. This is a circlular ride to and from Islip. It is 15.1 miles and is suggested to take around 1hr 15 minutes. 2. Continue north-east on High Street
3. Turn right at T junction signed Fencott, Murcott 1. Start at St Nicholas, Islip OX5 2SD 4. Continue to Murcott There was a Saxon church here which Edward the Confessor granted to Westminster Abbey. The present church was built in about 1200 but was much restored and rebuilt in 1861. 1. Murcott Mission Room, OX5 2RE A small chapel built in 1895 as offshoot of Charlton parish. 2. Head north on Church Lane 2. Continue 2 mi south-east on Fencott Road 3. Right into High Street 3. Turn right at junction with Brill Road signed Horton cum Studley 4. Left into Middle Street signed Charlton on Otmoor 4. After 1.5 mi on outskirts of Horton 5. After 1.1 mi bear right off main road signed Oddington 5. Turn right onto Horton Hill signed Oxford
1. St Andrew’s, Oddington 6. Join Tour Route A lovely little church with a C13 tower looking out over Otmoor. Recent restoration supported by OHCT. 7. After half mile destination ahead on right over cross road
2. Continue north-east following road out of village 1. St Barnabas, Horton Cum Studley OX33 1DH 3. 1 mi to Charlton on Otmoor 2. From crossroads head south-west signed Oxford 4. Destination will be on the left 3. Continue 2.3 mi
4. Turn right onto B4027 - 3.8 mi
