Monografies de la ICHN, núm. 1, 2020 MONOGRAFIES DE LA INSTITUCIÓ CATALANA D'HISTÒRIA NATURAL 3 Presentació Aquest és el primer volum d’una nova sèrie de publicacions que ha sorgit amb la finalitat de publicar aquells treballs que ocupen un número elevat de pàgines i que per tant no poden ser publicats en el Butlletí de la Institució Catalana d’Història Natural. Monografies de la Institució Catalana d’Història Natural és el nom que rep aquesta nova publicació. Les Monografies tenen com a objectiu principal incloure-hi estudis monotemàtics com són catàlegs, revisions, treballs faunístics o botànics, etc., d’extensió superior a les 40 pàgines de text, a les quals caldria afegir les figures, taules, índex, apèndix, etc, que facin de l’obra monogràfica un treball complet. Aquesta publicació no estarà subjecta a un calendari fix ni a un nombre d’edicions fixes al llarg de l’any. La seva acceptació estarà condicionada a un procés de revisió extern. Les normes de publicació estan exposades a la web de la Institució Catalana d’Histò- ria Natural. L’edició serà exclusivament digital i d’accés lliure a través del web de la ICHN. Les Monografiestindran portada pròpia, iŀlustrada amb alguna imatge del grup o de la temà- tica que abordi el volum en qüestió. Estaran numerades correlativament segons l’ordre d’aparició. Per raons econòmiques, i fins que no canviïn les condicions de l’IEC del qual la ICHN n’és una filial, els costos de maquetació aniran a càrrec dels autors de manera que el nom- bre de volums anuals no tindrà límit. Aquest és el primer volum, que apareix al web de la ICHN amb data de 30 de setem- bre. Esperem que tingui una bona acollida entre vosaltres, i que us animi a enviar grans manuscrits de les temàtiques exposades. Com en el cas del Butlletí l’únic condicionant per poder sotmetre propostes a les Monografies és que un dels autors sigui soci de la Institució Catalana d’Història Natural. Salutacions cordials Comitè editorial del Butlletí de la ICHN Barcelona, setembre 2020 Monografies de la ICHN, núm. 1, 2020 4 MONOGRAFIES DE LA INSTITUCIÓ CATALANA D'HISTÒRIA NATURAL Presentation This is the first volume of a new series of publications that has been created with the intention of publishing those publications that due to their high number of pages could not be published in the Bulletin of the Catalan Institution of Natural History. The name for this new series is Monographs of the Catalan Institution of Natural History. The main objective of the Monographs is to include monothematic studies such as catalogs, revisions, faunal or botanical checklists, among others, with a total extension of more than 40 pages of plain text plus the pages needed for figures, tables, index, appen- dix, etc., to make the monograph a complete work. This publication will not be subject to a fixed calendar or a fixed number of volumes throughout the year. The acceptance of manuscripts (monographs) will be subjected to external review processes. Author guidelines can be found on the Catalan Institution of Natural History web page. The edition will be exclusively digital and «open access» through the ICHN website. The Monographs will have their own cover, illustrated with an image of the group or the topic of the volume. The monographs will be numbered correlatively in order of ap- pearance. Due to economic reasons, and until the conditions of the IEC (ICHN being one of its subsidiaries), the autors will run with the layout costs. This makes possible the number of volumes per year has no límit. This is the first volume, which appears on the ICHN website on 30 September. We hope it will be very appreciated, and that will encourage you to send large manuscripts of the topics on display. As in the case of the Bulletin, the only condition for being able to submit proposals to the «Monographs» is that one of the authors has to be a member of the Catalan Institution of Natural History. A/e: [email protected] Resumen Se ha realizado un catálogo de los representantes de la familia Ptinidae presentes en la Penín- sula Ibérica y las Islas Baleares y Canarias. Para su realización se han revisado las colecciones del Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales de Madrid, del Museu de Ciències Naturals de Barcelona y del autor. Se ha efectuado una recopilación bibliográfica de todos los trabajos descriptivos, de los que citan especímenes del área y de los que tratan de la biología de las especies. De cada especie tratada se da su distribución, biología y bibliografía. Palabras clave: Coleoptera, Ptinidae, catálogo comentado, Península Ibérica, Islas Baleares e Islas Canarias. Abstract Discussed Catalogue of the Ptinidae (Coleoptera) of the Iberian Peninsula, Balearic Islands and Canary Islands A catalogue of the Ptinidae family present in the Iberian Peninsula and the Balearic and Canary Islands has been made. For its realization, the collections of the National Museum of Natural Sci- ences of Madrid, the Museum of Natural Sciences of Barcelona and the author have been reviewed. A bibliographic compilation has been made of all the descriptive works, of which they cite speci- mens from the area and those that deal with the biology of the species. For each treated species, its distribution, biology and bibliography are given. Key word: Coleoptera, Ptinidae, discussed Catalogue, Iberian Peninsula, Balearic Islands and Canary Islands. Resum Catàleg comentat dels Ptinidae (Coleoptera) de la Península Ibèrica, illes Balears i illes Ca- nàries S’ha realitzat un catàleg dels representants de la família Ptinidae presents a la península Ibèrica i Illes Balears i Canàries. Per a la seva realització s’han revisat les coŀleccions del Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales de Madrid, del Museu de Ciències Naturals de Barcelona i de l’autor. S’ha efectuat un recull bibliogràfic de tots els treballs descriptius, dels que citen espècimens del àrea i els que tracten de la biologia de les espècies. Monografies de la ICHN, núm. 1, 2020 6 CATÁLOGO DE LOS PTINIDAE DE LA PENÍNSULA IBÉRICA, BALEARES Y CANARIAS Introducción Desde la publicación de la «Fauna Ibérica de los Anobiidae» de Español (1992) las especies presentes en la Península Ibérica e Islas Baleares se han incrementado notablemente por la descrip- ción de nuevos taxones, por la localización de especies europeas y africanas o por la introducción de otras exóticas. Por ejemplo en el género Dorcatoma Herbst, 1792, Español (1992) cita 4 espe- cies conocidas del área peninsular, actualmente el género cuenta con 10 representantes, debido a la descripción de nuevas especies y la localización de otras europeas (Viñolas, 2013c, 2016b). También puede mencionarse el caso del género Stagetus Wollaston, 1861 con 5 representantes en la fauna de Español (1992), y que actualmente cuenta con 14 especies, por descripción de nuevos taxones del área ibero-balear (Viñolas, 2013a, 2016d, 2017b). Actualmente se ha revisado el contenido genérico y específico ibérico de las subfamilias Dorca- tominae, Mesocoleopodinae, Ptilininae y parte de la Ernobiinae (Viñolas, 2013a, c, d, e; Viñolas & Recalde Irurzun, 2018; Viñolas &Muñoz-Batet, 2019a), estando en curso de publicación la revisión de otros géneros. Así como en la antigua familia Anobiidae contamos con una buena base de parti- da (Español, 1992) para poder realizar su estudio, no sucede lo mismo con la actual subfamilia Ptininae de la que sólo poseemos un número limitado de trabajos parciales a nivel específico y sin ninguna revisión genérica.

    Botanische Bestimmungsübungen 1 Euphorbiaceae Euphorbiaceae (Wolfsmilchgewächse) 1 Systematik und Verbreitung Die Euphorbiaceae gehören zu den Eudikotyledonen (Kerneudikotyledonen > Superrosiden > Rosiden > Fabiden). Innerhalb dieser wird die Familie zur Ordnung der Malpighiales (Malpighienartige) gestellt. Die Euphorbiaceae umfassen rund 230 Gattungen mit ca. 6.000 Arten. Sie werden in 4 Unterfamilien gegliedert: 1. Cheilosoideae, 2. Acalyphoideae, 3. Crotonoideae und 4. Euphorbioideae sowie in 6 Triben unterteilt. Die Familie ist überwiegend tropisch verbreitet mit einem Schwerpunkt im indomalaiischen Raum und in den neuweltlichen Tropen. Die Gattung Euphorbia (Wolfsmilch) ist auch in außertropischen Regionen wie z. B. dem Mittelmeerraum, in Südafrika sowie in den südlichen USA häufig. Heimisch ist die Familie mit Mercurialis (Bingelkraut; 2 Arten) und Euphorbia (Wolfsmilch; 20-30 Arten) vertreten. Abb. 1: Verbreitungskarte. 2 Morphologie 2.1 Habitus Die Familie ist sehr vielgestaltig. Es handelt sich um ein- und mehrjährige krautige Pflanzen, Halbsträucher, Sträucher bis große Bäume oder Sukkulenten. Besonders in S-Afrika und auf den Kanarischen Inseln kommen auf hitzebelasteten Trockenstandorten zahlreiche kakteenartige stammsukkulente Arten vor, die in den Sprossachsen immens viel Wasser speichern können. © PD DR. Falsogastrallus Pic, 1914 (= Gastrallomimum Pic, 1939; = Neogastrallus Fisher, 1938) is represented by 16 species, one of them being new to science - Falsogastrallus indicus sp. nov. These species are distributed throughout the world, except the Australian region. INTRODUCTION The fi rst (and the last) complex review of the genus Falsogastralus Pic, 1914 was presented by Español (1979). He indicated eight species (including F. barbieri Pic) and noticed other 3 species, from which F. pendleburyi Pic, 1936 is now placed in the genus Methemus Broun, 1882. He used incorrectly name F. fi brinocens (Fisher, 1938) for F. librinocens (Fisher, 1938). Español (1977, 1979) indicated one problematic species - F. barbieri Pic, but he wrote that this name is probably nomen nudum, because he did not fi nd its description, but only a designated specimen in the Pic’s collection (“Saigon, 6-ix-50, J. Barbier, Falsogastrallus barbieri sp.n.”). I have not fi nd any description of this species, too. This species was not published also in Zoological records. According to my opinion this species is valid and the author is Español (1979), because he made a short description and cited the locality, and he also drew aedeagus of this species, which is in compliance with ICZN rules.

For decades, the idea of various biotope types hosting unique plant and ani­ mal species associations and thus forming well-delimited species communities have continuously been debated. At any rate, it remains a practical empirical working concept in intensively exploited mosaic landscapes like in Denmark where biotope fragments are distinctly separated by man-made borders. In Denmark, conifer plantations dominated by Norway spruce, Picea abies L. con­ stitute such a well-delimited biotope type - at the same time widely distributed and with an insect fauna only poorly known. In two years, 1980-81, in Gludsted Plantation, Central Jutland, the arthro­ pod fauna was studied in six stands of mature well-tended Norway spruce on poor sandy acidic soils. A variety of sampling methods was employed with a minimum of four white bucket traps and two tray traps on the ground in each stand. In both years in some stands, ground emergence traps were set up as well as vertical series of white buckets in canopies at mean levels 6.6, 10.6 and 13.2 m. Additional sampling comprised vertical sticky trap series in canopies, sweep net sampling in low branches and winter bark search. Ground beetles, sawflies and the aphid-aphidophagous fauna were analysed in previous papers.
