 Chief Minister Edappadi K Palani swami launched civil registration website www.crstn.org to download birth/death certificates free-of-cost online within 21 days.  With the launch, Tamil Nadu becomes the first state to launch the facility on March 4.  As per the state records, nearly 99.5% births and 23% of deaths occur in hospitals.

EDUCATION

 Chennai-based National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT) develops new technology to use coolant water discharge from thermal power plants to produce fresh water.  It is planning to implement the project at Thoothukudi Thermal Power Station (TTPC).

OTHERS

INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS

 India has the cheapest mobile data in the world as per the research by price comparison site co.uk. The global average was USD 8.53 for 1GB.  Malaysia became a 124th member of the International Criminal Court (ICC).  The 9th round of the U.S.-India Strategic Security Dialogue held in Washington DC, United States.

ECONOMY

 Amazon founder Jeff Bezos continued to remain the world’s richest man with

a net worth of $131 billion.  AU Small Finance Bank Ltd. a Fortune India 500 company and one of India’s fastest growing banks.  World Gold Council (WGC), India, the world’s largest consumer of gold, has the 11th largest gold reserve, with the current holding secured at 607 tonnes.

SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

 China lifted its broadband communication system by launching a Long March – 3B carrier rocket with ‘ChinaSat 6C’ into a geostationary orbit in Sichuan province.  The‘ChinaSat 6C’ was launched from Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Sichuan province.

 Defence Research and Defence Organisation (DRDO) successfully test fired the Guided Pinaka weapons system from Pokhran ranges in Rajasthan.
