Is your parish “one Body of of the use of our time, talent and treasure to support our Christ” or a bunch of little, separate ministries controlled by parish. As the pastor, I have to then look at the treasure that human ego? The goal of all parish ministries is to bring we have and see how it is best used for the good of the people to Christ. All of our parish work should be for the community. We have property that is not being used to its glory of God’s name, not our own name. full potential and at the same time, much of it is in need of work so that it is here for the future. This would be disrupted. is happening between Masses at our 2 worship sites and even, according to parishioners who have witnessed it, Beginning in September, the St. Andrew School building during Mass itself. We are working with our Pantry will no longer be used for our parish Religious Education Committee to make some changes. One that we have taken classes. Mrs. Coco, our Director of Religious Education, is that the bins have been moved from the vestibule into the Sr. Rita, All Saints Catholic Academy Principal and I met worship space. We are fortunate that in addition to to build a schedule which allows us to use ASCA facilities donations you pick up while shopping, we also receive cash for all of our classes. You will be able to find the nearest church to your destination and also when Mass and Confessions are offered. SAINTS ALIVE St. Barnabas was born in Cyprus and given the name Joseph. He sold his property, gave the proceeds to the Apostles, who gave him the name Barnabas. He lived in common with the earliest converts to Christianity in Jerusalem. He persuaded the community there to accept Paul as a , was sent to Antioch, Syria, to look into the community there, and brought Paul there from Tarsus. With Paul he brought Antioch's donation to the Jerusalem community during a famine, and returned to Antioch. Barnabas, Paul and Mark went on a missionary journey to Cyprus, Perga and Antioch in Pisidia, where they were so violently opposed by the Jews that they decided to preach to the pagans. Then they went on to Iconium Lystra and Lycaonia, where they were first acclaimed gods and then stoned outside the city. When a dispute arose in Antioch regarding the observance of the Jewish rites, Paul and Barnabas went to Jerusalem, where, at a council, it was decided that pagans did not have to be circumcised to be baptized. Paul and Barnabas parted, and Barnabas returned to Cyprus with Mark. Tradition has Barnabas stoned to death at Salamis in the year 61. LOOKING AHEAD TO NEXT WEEK The Kingdom of God is like a mustard seed, which springs up and becomes the largest of plants, like a tender shoot from the cedar which will bear fruit and become a majestic cedar. So shall the just one flourish, like a cedar. As we walk by faith and not by sight, my our lives bear fruit in abundance.
