Friday, 9/25/20 Announcements

• The Jesuit’s Dads Club is sponsoring a Feeding Tampa Bay Mobile Pantry on Saturday, October 3rd at Hillsborough Community College. This is an opportunity for Jesuit students to volunteer alongside their fathers to help serve the hungry throughout the Tampa Bay area. The ’s Club is looking for 50-75 father-son pairs to help make this event a success. Interested volunteers should check the X2Vol bulletin board or email Coach Wood with any questions.

• Auditions for The Masque’s fall production TWELVE INCOMPETENT JURORS will take place via Zoom today and Monday at 4pm. It is not too late to sign up, and no prior acting experience is required. To register, see the Masque Fall Play Auditions module on the Student Life Canvas page.

• Yesterday, the Tiger Golf team, led by Carter Dill and Chase Johns, defeated Tampa Catholic by sweeping the Crusaders in what was their final meeting this season. Next up, the team will participate in The Lakewood Ranch Invitational on Monday.

• Yesterday, the Jesuit Swimming and Diving team moved to 3-0 on the season by defeating Robinson, 145-26. Winners included: -200 Medley Relay: Liam Schindler, Nick Shaffer, Jordan Jansen, Sam Prabhakaran -200 Freestyle: Ryan Finster -200 IM: Sam Prabhakaran -50 Freestyle: Nick Shaffer -Diving: Sasha Fiola -100 Fly: Brayden Hohman -100 Freestyle: Jordan Jansen -500 Freestyle: Nick Shaffer -200 Freestyle Relay: Sam Prabhakaran, Ryan Finster, Sean Kenny, Erick Magalhaes -100 Backstroke: Aidan Clements -100 Breaststroke: Sam Prabhakaran -400 Freestyle Relay: Brayden Hohman, Liam Schindler, Jordan Jansen, Nick Shaffer The team looks to continue their dominance next Tuesday against Plant.

• Last night, the JV Football team defeated Riverview 28-20. Freshman quarterback Jadyn Glasser threw a touchdown pass to Jack Earnest and Hansen Rix. On defense, Drew Woodaz and Elias Acevedo each had touchdowns. Jack Ferreri was perfect with PATs and had a long punt that sealed the victory.

• Tonight, Varsity Football hosts Berkeley Prep at 7:30. Student IDs will not be accepted for admission into the game. Only individuals who have purchased advanced tickets will be admitted. The game can be watched via live stream link which can be found on Jesuit’s Page under QuickLinks.

• Attention all students, faculty, and staff: There will be no fifth period Mass today.

• Attention all students: Tomorrow will be an Order 5 for School Mass and Club Meetings. Please be aware of your homeroom’s schedule. If your homeroom is attending Mass, coat and tie are required.

• Attention Seniors who have attended a Kairos retreat: Please come by Mr. Angel’s Office in Campus Ministry today for important information.

• The Masque is holding auditions for its fall production of TWELVE INCOMPETENT JURORS this Friday and Monday at 4pm on Zoom. No prior acting experience is necessary, and rehearsal schedules can accommodate most sports and clubs. To sign up for auditions, go to the Masque Fall Play Auditions module on the Student Life Canvas Page.

• Attention all students interested in trying out for Freshman and JV Basketball: There will be a meeting tomorrow morning at 7:30 in the gym. Bring a pen and please be prompt.

• Yesterday, the JV Cross Country team competed against Plant High School at Al Lopez park. The Tigers were led by Sophomore Devin Stevens and Freshman Ricky Gonzalez. Congratulations, Tiger Harriers!

• Yesterday, Tiger Golf hosted Plant at Carrollwood Country Club. Junior Carter Dill and Senior Chase Johns contributed solid rounds on the day. The team hosts Tampa Catholic at Carrollwood Country Club on Thursday. Good luck, Tiger Golf!

Monday, 9/21/20 Announcements

• The Masque, Jesuit’s award-winning theatre club, is excited to announce auditions for its fall production of TWELVE INCOMPETENT JURORS, a hilarious parody of the similarly named courthouse drama. No experience is necessary, and inexperienced actors are encouraged to audition. For safety reasons, the production will be live-streamed, and actors will be masked and socially distanced. Auditions will take place on Zoom on Friday and Monday beginning at 4pm. To reserve an audition slot or to sign up for the show’s technical crew, contact Mr. Miller via Canvas.

• Attention all students interested in Wrestling: Stop by the wrestling room after school on Tuesday, October 6th to pick up paperwork and information about the upcoming season. Contact Coach Basile with any questions.

• Beating out 25 other teams, the Cross Country team ran to a double win at the Mitchell Invitational on Saturday. Led by Adam Dieck and Lawson McLeod, Varsity took first. Other scorers for the Tigers were Kevin Beck-Perez, Wolfgang Louk, and Danny O'Leary. The JV squad took first with Devin Stevens leading the way for the Tigers.
