Summary

The National Gallery is an art museum in Trafalgar Square in the City of Westminster, in Central ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ London in England. The gallery was designed by British architect, William Wilkins. It was built in ​ between 1832 and 1838. It was founded in 1824, and has wide range of over 2,300 paintings from 1200 to 1900. It is one of the most popular art museums in the world. Only the Louvre, the British Museum, and ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ the Metropolitan Museum of Art have more visitors per year. The gallery houses paintings by well known ​ ​ artists such as van Gogh, Holbein, Titian, van Eyk, Constable, Turner, Seurat, Cezanne, and Bellows.
